It actually does NOT instill confidence. Rather, it causes insecurity. Dogs are pack animals that rely on strong leadership to keep them alive. It is the same with herd animals.
When I finally learned not to baby talk to our horses, our relationships grew into stronger bonds than ever before. If a horse spooked, it would run to me for protection. The same with dogs!

We fostered seniors. No one wants a blind incontinent baby. We always said they were slow and incontinent like us. We kept the babies until they were ready to go chase rabbits in heaven. It was hard to loose them but we wouldn't change anything. Gotta love the babies. 8: 09

Wow this couple does something absolutely amazing for a Momma and her pups! They don't just give them a place to live but a place to thrive and to be themselves no matter how traumatized they may be, they always show Love and Kindness! That's something this world needs more of

It should be illegal to buy and sell dogs or any animal for that matter, because there will always be greedy so-and-so's who have $- signs in their eyes. Can you imagine if they did this to himans Women would be used and abused to produce kids, just for the cash!

We are fosters as well and we just want to keep every dog. My hubby and I both cried when they eventually leave to their forever home. The house is empty and the void in the heart is real. It was so hard but it is the least we can do for these wonderful animals.

I once heard somewhere that speaking to scared dogs in a calm voice rather than the high pitched excited voice can help with calming them or helping them feel more comfortable around you.
