Please think of raising your kids with a dog or better, a few dogs. When I was born my parents had a 7 year old black lab named Bismarck. As soon as I arrived he was glued to me. He loved his little brother on a level even beyond the love he showed for my parents. He slept under my crib, he kept me out of danger, practically babysat me; when I could walk, he walked beside me everywhere I went. He chased off a strange man who came into the yard and tried to accost my mom and me when I was a toddler; he woke us up barking when a man tried to come through the window and rob us in the middle of the night. He even chased my dad into the pool one time when my dad was scolding me for carrying a squirt gun in the house and dripping water everywhere. Not only did growing up with a dog and I’ve had many since Bismarck help make me physically healthier with no allergies, emotionally healthier thanks to so much early childhood bonding, and an animal lover for life but literally all of my memories from the first five years of my life are of Bismarck. (I don’t remember anything but him before that Challenger explosion in 1986) They’re all happy memories. He was with us until 1987, passing away at 14 years old. Since Bismarck I’ve never been without at least one dog in my life and in my home with me (except freshman year of college when I lived in a dorm. Most of them have been my best friends, and though I miss every one of them, almost all my happy memories are with one of them. My life is a life with dogs and so much better for that and I owe it to my first best friend, Bismarck, who literally taught me how to love and live.

so cute
Golden retrievers have droopy ears, so if you lift their ears and blow on them, they'll make a confused face, which is funny I feel sorry for them so I only play tricks on them once, but I can't help but find their movements so cute
Maybe it's because they have a slightly clumsy image. Anyway, golden retrievers have a mysterious charm.

When cavement decided to domesticate dogs, they couldn't have had any idea how perfectly they would fit. I think the dog's pack instinct makes them understand immediately how important a new baby is and how they should behave. They're just incredible.

I’ve had several goldens over the years. When my spouse was pregnant they never left her side. When each of the kids were born they were their stalwart protectors and best friends. We don’t deserve dogs.

This is a good way to teach children to be kind and compassionate to animals. And dogs learn too we can learn so much from babies and dogs how to get along and how to be peaceful.

Children raised with dogs exhibit better social- emotional development
Well I was raised with cats so that probably explains why I'm socially awkward and a hundred other things

This is truly lovely to watch. This is true love in it's purest form, the love between a child and a dog. I really enjoyed this video.
