St. Bernards are very cute when little, but they need to be trained and handled well as they get very big and strong. About 20y ago I rented an flat on a property with three full grown St. Bernards and it was no fun as though they didn't bite, they would run you over every time you had to pass through the garden. And it is scary af when three huge dogs come barking at you and then knock you over. I rather take a Pitty instead.

You are right that is a huge amount of cuddliness. I was lucky enough to adopt a Newfie. very much the size of a St. Bernard. Literally, tons of fun, frolicking, and love. You are so privileged to have this puppy in your life.

I stopped fostering dogs after I lost my Golden Shepherd Pal, (I still miss my boy) but even I would consider adopting Clyde.
