Just when he was about to quit being a vet. he found his calling! We talked to Dr. Kwane about how he helps unhoused people give their pets the best care, and how his own rescue dog inspires him every day Living near a homeless shelter, I see many homeless people with pets. And most times you can see in just a few moments how much those animals are loved and cherished. Dr. Kwane is an earth angel, and we are all lucky he is here.

Suicide rates are extremely high for veterinarians. They have to deal with busy hospitals, sick & injured animals, people who don't do what's best for their pets, people who don't or can't pay, stray & abandoned animals, neglected & abused animals, people who are abusive to them & staff, all of the issues involved with running a business, and they don't make much money after costs no matter what you might think. Then there's the days where dogs are dying from illness or injury, and the euthanasias. If you've ever had a pet that died, you know how hard & sad it is. Now imagine having to deal with that every single day with multiple animals. It's soul crushing.
So, please be kind to your vet & their staff. Thank them & let them know how important they are to you & your pet, and that what they do is appreciated.
If your vet & you are okay with it, give them a hug. . Vet staff too.

I appreciate this video, particularly in light of the way that corporations are seeing pet care as the new avenue for making money. My local vet was bought out by one, and immediately started pushing unnecessary expensive treatments to the point that I could no longer trust them to tell me what I genuinely needed to take care of my dogs. The well-being of our animals speaks to the health of our species, and watching that degenerate before our eyes is a very worrying sign of our direction. People like the vet in this video remind us of how we should be, and it's not too late to prioritize compassion over monetary gain.

What an amazing man. Sometimes when we see these people in the movies or even on a talk show we try to envision what they are like away from hollywood. But I see this man in a totally different perspective now. I knew he was a kind man or got that feeling from him but after seeing this he is a real man a real true good to honest human being. Bless him for his compassion. And I got to give the props to lexus. Never knew that a car maker would really care about animals. So they win a gold star as well.

Wow this man is a absolute Blessing! All he wants is to HELP, he wants to help the underdog. He doesn't judge, but understands just how much our fur babies mean to all of us
He gets up every day and hits the streets looking for someone less fortunate and then actually stops and helps

This Is What God Intended For ALL PEOPLE TO DO! Help Someone Less Fortunate Than You! That's What I Do! What A Good Humanitarian! Helping These Pets Is Priceless! You Never know, it could be anyone of us who could end up being homeless! Think about that! Me Today, You Tomorrow!

I was right there with you until you met this unhoused man.
We have real problems in the world, including homelessness. We won’t solve anything by coming up with new softer terms to say the same thing. If you think that’s a solution, then you’re the problem.

I can't stop tearing up. Thank you for all that you do. I wish other vets would do the same thing b/c it is true, our pets are everything to us no matter whether we are living in a house or unhoused. They are everything to us. Thank you.

THIS! I remember our local Vet would drive around in the summer and offer a checkup to folks animals for free. Everyone loved that man, even the people without pets. RIP Dr Buckles. You were the best! Thank You so much Dr Kwane!

Wow I work at a homeless shelter in Alabama and actually I'm working today and I've seen a couple of people sign in at the desk with their pets and I was wondering about food flea medicine and vet stuff for the unhoused residents
