If the gunshot was heard in the recording, why would the police have to press play? Wouldn't they need to press stop, then rewind? The recorder should keep recording after the suicide.

the answer to the riddle suicide is not correct. the real answer is the person cannot stop the recording if he was dead (the voice of bullet meant he was dead, right?
