Who did you fact-check the bit about tartan restrictions with? The literal queen of England? It's nonsense. You even mentioned that Disney registered a fashion tartan in the same video. Clan tartans are meant as a way to show support & solidarity; relatively few tartans are restricted or conditional.

One of the beast things about stories is that they don't have to be historically accurate. It's a story. You can make it up as you go along. A lot of writers write as a way to escape into a better world. So who cares if it's not historical accurate especially when it comes to fairy tales.
