So Beauty and the Beast Knock off isn't a Knock off but a more accurate movie toward the original French version. Also sounds like the Little Mermaid was somewhat close to the original story. you know Seafoam? Wow Cinderella seems to be just like that too. Wait so is Sleeping Beauty. uhm, is this accurate at all, cause so far all of these are legal versions of old fairy tales. Okay so at the end there are few that are accurate, Pocahontas is cutting it close, and yes the name of Kiara the Brave is a bit close but it also came out BEFORE Pixar's did, so of course they wouldn't say anything. but the rest. Get OVER it. Disney does not own the the rights to all the old fairy tale classics, if anything they would be considered infrigning because. Disney is Fanning on the classics and doing their own versions. Since no one owns copyrights on those original tails then anyone can do the same unless they are plagiarizing the work without giving proper credit. I'd say the only one that Disney has the right to lay down the law with is the Tangled up.

Beauty and The Beast- based on a fairy tale by Jeanne-Marie Leprince De Beaumont
The Little Mermaid-Based off Hans Christian Anderson's The Little Mermaid
Pinocchio-based off a children's novel The Adventure of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi
Cinderella-Fairy tale by Charles Perrault which was then adopted by The Brothers Grimm
Sleeping Beauty- Fairy tale by Charles Perrault which 4th an was adopted by The Brothers Grimm
Snow White-The Brothers Grimm
Pocahontas-Based off a real person
The Hunchback of Notre Dame-Based off a novel of the same name from 1831 by Victor Hugo
Tangled-The Brothers Grimm
Brave- The only original
So it seems to me that out of the 10 they listed Disney only 1 is not taken from someone else's idea

The Little Mermaid knockoff didn't bother me since they both ended happy, unlike the original fairy tale by Hans Christen Anderson. If Francesca Angelucci Capaldi, who has long red hair and a beautiful voice, plays Ariel and Noah Schnapp, who is very handsome with short black hair, plays Prince Eric in the live-action/CGI remake of the Disney movie of The Little Mermaid, it would be as if Disney brought Charlie Brown and the little red-haired girl together!

Not Trying To Hate But
Disney Was Making The Movie's More Kid Friendly
The Copy Cats Were Going With Either The Original Way, A New Movie That Has Similar Characters, Or Has A Similar Name But Nothing To Do With The Story Line.
There Is Also Such Thing As Inspiration For The Characters Or Some Of The Plot Lines

Many Disney movies are based off old, old folktales, so the stories belong to everyone. And the so-called knock-off versions are closer to the original tales. The only thing that might be knock-offs are some of the character designs. I can't believe how TheThings are so uneducated about these sorts of things.

Disney is the knock off. especially the little mermaid. i grew up with an anime version that goes by the original story. I cried but learned about love. when I saw Disney's version in the theatre i left so pissed

But like, all most of the princess ones were based on old stories, which Disney literally copied into a movie. The other movies are just doing the same thing, so they can't be blamed for copying Disney
reply

Um Technically Disney Doesn't Own Most Of These Stories As The Just Disneyafiyed Them. Most Of Disney's Movies Are From Old Stories.
