In my opinion Toothless killed Stoick because he was really mind controlled by the bad Bewilderbeast because during RTTE in Berserker Island all dragons even Toohtless acted weird in flying because the king of dragons (Bewilderbeast) is mind controlling them as a self of defense and since the bad Bewilderbeast is under the rule of Drago, Drago told the Bewilderbeast to kill Hiccup but Stoick interfered and was killed instead thats my opinion
And when Toothless was trying to save Hiccup he had to use mouth because its like dinosaurs their arms or talons are too short so Toothless tried his best to save Hiccup and used his mouth so he can save Hiccup my opinion only: )

I have a couple of nightfury theroys
Theory one toothless is not alone we only know about the isle of berk and the islands around it its very possible that night furys arent almost extinct but very alive.
Theory two
In how to train your dragon 3 we see a lightfury so what if there are other furys like a earthfury or a firefury
Theory three
We only have seen one nightfury aka toothless and one lightfury a male and female What if there the same species just males are darker colored.

We don't know about Valka until the second movie, and you're saying we learn about her in the first. they don't even mention the fact that he has a mother in the first movie, we just end up assuming that she died or something, or at least, I did.
