Check Out Some Of Disney's Saddest And Darkest Deleted Scenes! Disney's 10 Saddest Deleted Scenes That You Never Knew About Disney Theory: 10 Villains Who Could Still Be Alive Disney has the ability to make us laugh and cry with their classic animated movies. But who knew that they were actually sparing us from some highly emotional scenes? Apparently, there are several scenes that are too sad even for Disney to show in their films. We dug up some archived storyboard art and deleted animated scenes that are pretty dark. For instance, did you know that the original scene when Bambi lost his mother was going to be even more heartbreaking? Filmmakers had to rewrite the ending of Lilo and Stitch because of a national tragedy. There was a funeral that was taken out of a Disney major motion picture. Even Disneys Up had a few disturbing deleted scenes. But the most depressing has got to be the alternate ending of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Watch until the end to find out what happened. Here are 10 of Disneys saddest, most disturbing deleted scenes you never knew existed, part 2. #disneydeletedscenes #disneyalternateendings #disney

There was a B&W movie a long while back based on the story of the Hunchback of Notre Dame. The ending of that film had Esmerelda and her love leave happily together while Quasimodo, who was in love with Esmerelda but realistic about his complete lack of any chance with her, watched them leave while clinging to one of the gargoyles of the cathedral. His final line (addressed to the stone gargoyle) is heart-wrenching: Oh, my friend! Would that I were made of stone, like you!

Well, Bambi was a book from the 1929's, and authors were less worried about traumatizing kids, so I'll assume the gruesome scene had something to do with that. And for the sake of story structure, I kinda wish the Lion King kept that Nala/Scar scene. And very cool fact about the plane scene in Lilo and Stitch. It's actually kind of surprising how many cartoons were censored for a while and or changed at the time of 9/11.
