So what did you think of the new and improved Dumbo? New certainly, but improved is hard to judge.
While the original has some cringe-worthy 1940s moments, I'd argue it's story is more streamlined and impactful. Life can be hard at times, but facing that better prepares audiences to deal with the troubles and triumph.
The new one is more pleasant, especially for modern audiences, but smoothing over the rough edges has left us with something less memorable. Characters need to be added to progress the plot, gone is the dazzling animation, and does the whole tone seem too saccharine?

The new movie was visually stunning. Dumbo is the cutest thing and I would die for him, he gets 5 stars. Danny Devito was also great. My main issue was the screenplay, some editing, and the child performances. Mostly the screenplay though. Lile I wish they would of delved into the obvious parallels of of dad with one arm and dumbo with big ears, both viewed as somewhat weird, and how they bond over it. I almost forget the screenplay though because of how perfect dumbo the elephant is. 3/5 stars

Dumbo from 1941 wasn't a bad movie but it seemed to me quite boring as I had loved it but as an older fo I don't find it funny twice and talking animals like me twice in that adulthood
Dumbo from 2019
it was totally brilliant it took my breath away it was sad to beautifully cute
the elephant dumbo was totally in love indeed, Tim Burton can make great movies and again surprised again a beautiful movie he has ever managed

No drunken pink elephant trip
No crows (best characters in the original)
No stork
Cringy as hell ending (at least in a movie that's supposed to take place in the 1920s or whatever)
At least they did more of a re-imagining than a remake, so it's a bit excusable.

On March 30th, me, my sister and her boyfriend watched the remake of Dumbo, and the film was actually quite good to me. The ending was pretty sad for me just seeing Joe and Milly saying goodbye to Dumbo, but as long as Dumbo was happy, that's quite okay with me.

I love them both, although i have minor problems with some scenes of the remake, it was a lovely experience. My major issue was we don't see too much of Ms. Jumbo, unlike the original i guess that would've made the movie a lot sadder.

Bruh people actually like this movie? This was the absolute worst remake Ive seen. At least with all the other remakes I was able to at least enjoy them. With this movie I couldnt even make it past 30 minutes it was just that bad

Why did they change it, I thought it was really oppresing movie to watch as a too small kid, it still had a plot. - Movies these days are smooth crap for Green hippies.

I havent seen 1941 version, just 2019. I thought the ending was too modern for 1941, and sure enough I was right. But I like the new ending so much more.

The New Dumbo seems horrible. I wish they wouldve kept the talking animals. Thats what makes the new lion king a much better remake
