People are blinded about what the movie is all about. It tackles about the harsh reality of toys, something that Pixar have never done before. And a lot of comments here were pointed to the kid. You should realize that Bonnie IS NOT ANDY! SHE'S A DIFFERENT KID THAN ANDY AND HAS DIFFERENT NEEDS! The reason why Woody wanted to give a chance for other kids to experience a childhood with toys in the first place. The fact that Andy give his toys to another kid goes to show that he wanted to move on and give Bonnie the childhood Andy has. Instead of keeping his toys, he instead give it to another kid, emphasizing that he wanted other kids to experience that childhood and that other kids need it more than Andy himself. Woody is the representation of Andy's desire! Because Woody is Andy's toy, not Bonnie. Because Woody develops into someone who doesn't favor his own desire and wanted to make sure that Bonnie will have the best childhood. That's being selfless, something that Andy had done for Bonnie. Even though Bonnie didn't keep his promise, that's okay, because Bonnie is just a kid. She's not Andy who had a great attachment for Woody for year. She faces different problems than Andy, problems that made Woody realize his lack of meaning for Bonnie. Why do you want Woody to stick with Bonnie even if Woody himself is not the one that makes Bonnie happy? Andy doesn't need to keep his toys since Andy knows that someone needs it more than him. Woody does the same as Andy, and parts way from Bonnie so he can help other kids in providing a memorable childhood that Woody has. The fact that he makes sure that Forky will stay means that Woody has no purpose to stay, because someone already fills that void for Bonnie. What do you want? Defy the entire purpose on why Andy give his toys to another kid, by making them unite, thus creating a nostalgia-bait ending (and a selfish one, rather a liberating one?

I just realise toy story's message.
Woody and his gang is always finding way home to andy. Woody is representing our child hood. And that the reason why he kept chasing
Andy is because our childhoold will always be chasing us. Our memory as a child will always be there as one of the most memorable one. And that toy story 3's ending is saying that saying goodbye to our childhood to make way for other children is the next best thing.

In Part 3 Andy almost never given up Woody bcoz it is his most favorite toy. They should have let Andy keeps Woody on that time and stay it that way. Now Im broken hearted. I have watched all Toy Story when I was Andy's age during this first movie came up (damn i feel old) I cried on Part3 but this leaves me so sad. Whhhhhhhhy you made this kind of ending? Why why why? T_T

I just thought of watching the whole series. 1 and 2. And I'm curious what happen to 3, then eventually they had a 4. I really can't move on to 3 and 4, don't know why it would end that way. My daughter loves woody, buzz, bo, and jessy. Sa sad what happened to the gang. Hoping for toy story 5, and hoping the gang would comeback to each other again. I'm so saaaad and really.

Why couldn't they of just made toy story 4 similar to toy story 2! Andy randomly sees Jessie on his desk and she's his new toy, but except in toy story 4 it'd be bow and the other toys randomly appear in the van and become bonnies toys why did they made bow and woody leave the group just whywell I really don't know what will happen in toy story 5 then

As sad as the ending is that buzz and woody just decide to end their adventures together I love that woody choose to stay with Bo because they miss each other so much and then woody would have to say goodbye I really liked the ending but lets be honest if woody wants to find Buzz he can
