You know this is what they should do when brining back iconic Star Wars characters for new live action shows/movies. And if the actor can capture the feel of the original character it could be turned into their own series. I'm not saying they need to completely look like the original actor, but at least share few similarities and with make-up even making them look almost as the original actor could be done.
For a small cameo CGI, de-aging and deepfake are acceptable.

My best friend got diagnosed with terminal cancer right around the time Deadpool came out. Deadpool was his hero for more than one reason. He passed away in 2017 but it was so special for him to see a superhero that had cancer and overcame the difficulties that come along with it

I can never forget: all of the orcs and Uruk-hai in Lord of the Rings were all makeup also. It Lord of the Rings came out in 2001 so there was not much CGI they could do. I have watched thousands of movies and series but the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit trilogy stays my favorites.

I can tell from every movie if it is CGI or done by make-up artists. Most of the time it is very obvious; CGI looks always a bit fake while make-up moves more natural. Hard to explain but I can tell nine out of 10 times what it is. ;-)

I can't believe anyone would really think any of these were CGI. make up people don't get the credit they deserve, and of course the actors spending hours in the chair while it's being applied.

Literally all of these were obvious! Especially with the older movies! CGI wasnt as good then, so it would have been crazy obvious then! The more recent ones still look pretty digital!

Im severely disappointed that Lord of the Rings didnt get a mention. All the orcs and Uruk hai were prosthetics. But cat in the hat did? What the heck.
