Why Hollywood Is Done With Happy Endings

we discuss what makes a happy ending in Hollywood, Californias terms and what doesnt, figuring out what effects these two types of endings have on the audience and their viewing experience. We then reimagine several famous antihappy ending films if they had happy endings instead. This step in our process reveals that sometimes happy endings actually take away from the quality of films and their realistic characteristics. Look at many titles available on television streaming services including Midsommar, Parasite, The Joker, Gone Girl, La La Land, Shutter Island and The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas through a whole new lens as they are given happy endings, rather than sad ones. These films vary from action, thriller, horror, romance, and historical, offering a comprehensive base for our analysis of the use of antihappy endings. NEW UPLOADS

Now I now why I hate movies, too many bad endings. Im recently watching the old black and white movies of golden cinema. They make you wanna see the movie again because of the happy endings, and leave you with a great aspect and outlook on life, especially with this pandemic we don't need to see so many sad depressing shit all the time.
Maybe they should do a study on the correlations between the beginning era of movies with bad endings and the rise of antidepressant or depressed people throughout the years. I'm sure there is a correlation to it.
Stop watching sad shit and watch funny good movies. one guy cured his cancer by watching nothing but funny feel good films. Stuff to think about. I've noticed gen z is much more melancholy then their early generations, I'm sure its cause of all the sad shit floating around.
Hopefully we can get back to seeing happy movies again, life isn't all sad and shitty all the time, its funny and lovely too.

I think gone girl she got more than even, she have a kid and trapped him for 18 years. In my opinion I think she was pretty evil for doing all this because the man cheated, if you think Im overreacting, think about if a man ruined a cheating wives life, making her risk going to jail over a fake crime, and forced a baby in her. Not sure on how he can trap her into staying with him, maybe religious reasons, or her needing him for financial support. But child support normally the women win, I think there was a case where a female predator teacher gotten childs support, from the victim, and the money was from the case of her raping him.

I like the happy endings too theyre very nice.
Also the half-bad half-good endings; those are great.
I love fantasy/magical/adventure shows & movies because of all the action and the adventure and all the magic thats really interesting to look at and then theres the explanation on how it works and I love that.
I also love princess/royalty movies & tv series & musicals.
But I like it when they add a touch of realism.
It makes it really relatable.
I also like horror & action-y series & murder mysteries because those are seriously cool!

Wow! I never thought about love in the way you described in the good ending from La La Land. This is why I love that there is that one movie/video game/series'season that distinguishes itself from the others by showing how reality truly is and how you must fight it by keeping some focus on it.
And that sometimes, the happy ending you seek in your life is just another excuse to allow society's institutions and other people to control you. Sometimes, even your unhealthy and utopic mind is going to control you if you don't see reality's true face.

We honestly just feel cheated with happy endings, but ones where its one sided, and they have no chance, are like when they just have crazy plot armor, you want a movie that makes you wonder if things will be ok, and the chances of them surviving. The less you can predict the movie, the more you love it.

Wow this video is wrong on so many levels sad endings just make me feel depressed for the next like probably 2- 3 hours
And I hate them and I usually rewrite the ending in my head
I don't watch a movie for reality I watch a movie to escape reality

pfff nah the actual reason they're ditching happy endings is because they'll start filming pjo next year and they need to train their fans for heartbreak

I like them with bad endings. Like bittersweet endings.
Happy endings are ok and great but after a while they just get old. and a bit boring
