Movies may be simulated events but that doesnt mean making them doesnt come with real risks. And Marvel movies are chocked full of moments where the actors probably should have subbed in their stunt doubles. The actors have suffered smacks, kicks, punches, knees to the chest, whips to the face, and the list goes on. There is one actor in particular who managed to injure everyone in the cast he had a fight scene with. Dont get in an elevator with him. Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson and Anthony Mackie will all testify that working with that guy would lead to a ton of bumps and bruises. But thats what you get for hiring a real fighter! Benedict Cumberbatch took a boot to the chest after a lack of communication and nearly a dozen failed attempts at a stunt. Hayley Atwell was one of the worst when it came to injuring stunt people on the set of Peggy Carter. Two words: lead pipe. Simu Liu, lead in Shang Chi, took a real hit thanks to his nervous costars first attempt at a fight scene with him. Masks are terrible. They completely take away your peripheral vision, never drive with one on its a bad idea. Tom Holland got injured and Chadwick Boseman injured someone else thanks to their inability to see. Poor Tom Hiddleston had to work with the godlike Chris Hemsworth and he suffered for it. But despite all of the injuries the cast endured, were pretty sure that sweet paycheck made up for it. Plus, battle scars are cool
Lord: One of the more overlooked aspects of an acting career is the risk of injury while performing. Its way more common than you may think, and because some of your favorite actors have been hurt while giving great performances, its important that we acknowledge this side of the job. Marvel movies in particular have tons of stories of on set injuries sometimes due to fast paced fight sequences, difficult stunt scenes, or just lowkey scenes where someone accidentally hurts themselves. However the injury occurs, its never any fun for those involved and even can lead to production being halted to allow for the injured to recover. Date: 2022-06-06
