With Cobra Kai season 5 now streaming on Netflix, we can t help but wonder about all the dangerous stunts and fight choreography these actors and stunt doubles went through. The performers on this show, like Mary Mouser and Peyton List, are no strangers to on-set injuries. We also have the return of Sean Kanan, a Karate Kid III alumni.
We re actually so lucky to have him because he suffered a near-fatal injury on set in the 80s. After fainting in Las Vegas, he found out that he only had minutes to live if he didn t get to the hospital on time. It seems like Cobra Kai has always been rooted in danger. We also get into a few moments during the prom after-party fight sequence.
Did you know that in a lot of movies and TV shows they actually wet the concrete to make the sidewalks and streets appear bigger on screen? Though this might be visually appealing, it really doesn t help when trying to do fight choreography in high heels. Due to this environmental struggle, Peyton List fell on top of Mary Mouser and caused a serious injury to her hand.
There are also some moments where the stunt doubles have to be thrown through glass panels more than once. There was a medic on set supergluing cuts together and cleaning up injuries so they could be reset for another take.
