Ever heard of Evangeline -Vange- Whedon? She can-t control her TURNING INTO A DRAGON power, and it destroyed her career and personal life. She-s managed a bit of damage control since then, but still.
There are people who had a MUCH worse time after getting powers, but I always thought Marvel should have utilized her more.

Um. no. Reed Richards did not purposefully expose his friends to cosmic rays, and his friend Ben Grimm did not have an early crush on Reed's fiance, Sue. I really hate retcons.
This was all fabricated many years later to make the FF dynamic more interesting, and we all know how much fans love hack writers screwing around with their favorite characters decades later, just for the hell of it.

This lady doesn't know about the cartoon about a young boy that has magic rings that can turn him into the Thing, It was about a boy that had two rings on each hand & he puts them together & says Thing Ring do your thing & he magically turns into the Thing

I-m surprised that Metamorpho was not on this list. He was one of the first DC heroes to regret his transformation to a super powered being.
