The biggest problem with time travel is how time flow and timelines work. Eventually, even if you did go back in time, whether it be through jumping back into where you were or retaking control of your past consciousness, you'd eventually end up in a parallel timeline where everything that happened prior to that stays, while everything that happens after that is gone. Imagine going back in time to fix a mistake, only to find out that several years later in that timeline, something else happened entirely which makes this timeline completely different from the old timeline.
Elsword even did something similar where Add ended up in a parallel universe instead of his own timeline when he launched the time travel program in his Mad Paradox path.

There is a very real danger that Starfield pointed out about all this. Spoilers ahead, so whether Time travel or faster than light travel, what we need is the power to manipulate space time. So in the initial testing phase we might not be able to contain the gravitational anomalies caused by space time experiments. Which may cause something devastating like our atmosphere being dispersed and causing the Earth to die just like what happens in Starfield. So yes or Ape Ancestors did not figure out time travel.

Think about trying to explain what an average person can do and has available to them to someone who lived 200 years ago
They d think you re crazy or it was all devil magic going on

Time travel doesn't exist or at least impossible as our plane of existence time advance, all the past existence is wiped out there is no way to reverse it or actually go back to it, it's just gone same for the future it doesn't exist yet, even if the universe decided somehow to reverse time ur lifetime isn't going to reverse as in movies u become a baby. ect, there are plenty of theories about that but no one know what might happen.

The notion of time travel is hilarious. Most think it s easy to achieve.
Not only will you have to get the time and place correct but the position in space correct too. The solar system is traveling in a spiral, not a straight line. So you have to get that right or you will end up in space.

It s not external, Time travel exists in the mind. U can t control what s already been done or u wouldn t be where u are in the present however you can influence your future with time travel. You can influence what happens in your present by putting your mind into the future.

Wanna do real time travel? Go into orbit. Time moves differently depending on your distance from a gravity well. Theoretically, a One-Way trip can happen if you enter a close orbit to a Black Hole without entering the Event Horizon, but that's only theoretical.
