Deep Impact: There is a huge rock on collision course with Earth and heroes are on their way there to stop it. Very far away from Earth, they find the rock. And when they do, for some reason, they are approaching it from behind. This does not make sense. The heroes are going away from here and the rock is coming here. How can they be approaching it from behind now Did they use a special maneuver offscreen Do they have Star Wars level tech This does not make sense.
Humanity is insane beyond help.

I saw 2001 in Cinerama on first release at the RKO Theater in downtown Boston. (Yes, I am old and the theater is long gone. As I recall, demand for tickets was so great, one had to preorder admission) The technology of Kubrick's film was and still is outstanding. And the film remains still my all time favorite SF movie.
PS Man. The opening scene of lunar eclispe was truly stunning in the original Cinerama with enormous curved screen. Espeically in a very large theater by the teeny tiny standards of today. And the sound system was theater shaking. The pedal pipe organ notes were felt in the chest. An unforgettable theater experience.

There is 1 thing fundameltaly wrong with Interstellar. Do you know how many G's those Planet would have where they landed, where the time was like 1 hour is 1 year. It would have that much gravity you wouldent be able to lift 1 arm. With that much time dialation it would be more then 20 G's. And this Planet would be sucked in a loong time ago. There is just no way such a Planet could exist. Either hes alrdy destroyed, or sucked up from the Black hole.

Shouts at the screen when they get the science wrong.
And I still hear the haters of The Last Jedi (2017) saying the dreadnought bombing violates the laws of physics when they disregard Newton's second law of motion:
An object in motion stays in motion until a force is acted upon it.
And when they say they can't drop bombs because of the absence of gravity on a ship that has artificial gravity.

My only real complaint about the Martian is the strength of the storm at the beginning of the movie having essentially hurricane levels of force behind it. In reality the atmosphere on Mars is too thin to really push anything other than dust particles around at its strongest which is only a threat to solar panels, cameras and other sensitive scientific equipment.

I don't know how true this is, but I think I remember hearing that the only thing that wasn't scientifically accurate in The Martian was the windstorm that stranded Matt Damon on Mars in the first place. The wind on Mars would never even come close to being that strong.

Well well well, Contagion huh, who would of known that would be included(the movie they obviously watched before they planned Convid. Also how about scientifically inaccurate movies, with a blatant choice being Volcano, that most realistic of disaster movies.

i may be a science buff but a movie getting the science wrong or right doesn't matter to me at all. especially when it comes to comic book movies. also, you don't sound like a fun person to watch a movie with if you're really like that.

_2001: A Space Odyssey, _ in more ways than one, was a foreshadowing of the Moon landing and the dangers AI can possess. I never cared for _Interstellar, _ though.

Comets (even interplanetary ones) get discovered by backyard astronomers all the time. It's not silly. Also, Helium has many scientific uses beyond party balloons!
