we’re counting down the American presidents who, for better or for worse, changed history the most. Our countdown of US Presidents who changed the course of history includes Harry S. Truman, John F. Kennedy, Abraham Lincoln, and more! Which other presidents do you think should be on this list, and why

Woodrow Wilson was a racist who resegregated the federal workforce and incarcerated political prisoners, such as Eugene debs. He was a despicable, loathsome human being who should not be on this list. James madison's brilliance showed in the drafting of the constitution. His presidency was inconsequential except for the War of 1812, which does not favourably grace his tenure. JFK's tenure as president was at best inconsequential, only the Cuban missile crisis showed his wisdom. However, there was a quid pro quo, as we had to remove missiles from Turkey. While often lionized, FDR was ineffective fixing the Great Depression. It should be noted that the unemployment rate on Election Day 1940 was higher than it was on Election Day 1932. Concerning his prosecution of World War 2, many presidents of both parties could have done a job just as well.

1) Unless you do a deep dive into history, it is not often told that Truman was a shoe salesman before entering politics and after leaving the White House, he ended up in poverty and when it was found he was living hand to mouth, a retirement fund of sorts was created so that no other former president would end up poor.
2) Lyndon Johnson was a monster who actually talked to staff members while he sat on the toilet taking a dump. It could be argued that he was part of the group that assassinated his predecessor. Just months after taking office the CIA faked a military incident to justify the mass military involvement of the US in Vietnam, which vastly helped Fort Worth Texas based Bell Helicopters and General Dynamics (LBJ was from Texas. Finally, LBJ frequently used the N word when talking about black people.

Ronald Reagan's legacy: tax cuts that tripled the national debt and benefitted the top 1% of Americans and big corporations, increase in income inequality thanks to policies that favored the wealthy, deregulation that eviscerated environmental protections, refusal to address the AIDS crisis even as Americans were dying by the thousands, social welfare cuts that impacted the poorest Americans and contributed to increased homelessness and poverty rates, and a little thing called the Iran Contra affair

If Vietnam didn't happen for LBJ, he would have been a top 5 president of all time. Got nearly all of the civil rights legislation through like the Voting Rights Act of 1964 and Civil Rights Act. Got Medicare and Medicaid through Congress. Unemployment was from 1966 up until Nixon took over in 1969 UNDER 4%. He had Congress wrapped around his fingers, but sadly again Vietnam took him down. He knew he would lose in 1968 if he ran so he didn't.

Truman is the only world leader to this day to strike another country with nuclear weapons. Highly immoral.
Reagan exacerbated the Cold War. The fact that the Soviet Union collapsed when he was president doesn’t make it his accomplishment. Also his deregulations opened the way for future economic crises.
Johnson was so worried about his image that he sent thousands to die in a war he knew couldn’t be won.

Also what about the signing of NAFTA. Which killed americas manufacturing jobs. HUGE blow to the middle class America. Also what about Nixon removing the US Dollar from the Gold Standard. Let's not forget Woodrow Wilson who created the federal reserve which started our money printing in this country. The dollar is worth about 5% of what it once was.

US the only country to be able to throw an atomic bomb (twice) killing thousands of civilians, bring south america and all their governments to their downfall, invade countries at the other side of the world for reasons still not very clear (some of them proven to be a lie) and act like the are the victim

As someone who loves American history, hearing how Lincoln led our country in the midst of a Civil War always peaks my interest. In addition, getting to visit the Lincoln Memorial for the first time a few years ago was one of my favorite experiences

I'm favoured, Getting my own Truck has always been my Dream for my business. I just acquired 2 recently, earning $32K weekly has been really helpful. I can now give back to the locals in my community and also support Charity Organizations.

You left out Reagan’s contribution to record levels of wealth inequality, killing his own citizens by defunding health during the aids epidemic, and setting the new standard for government corruption through Iran-Contra

What about Reagen axing the Fairness Doctrine effectively ending honest journalism as we knew it. Now we have politicized weaponized and propaganda spewing news stations. That was terrible for this country.

Fidel Castro: Why is he here! He lost!
Richard Nixon: Looks like someone’s breaking in!
Abraham Lincoln: Don’t get your fans stirred up in some sort of Twitter Civil War!

Ronald Reagan was mixed, sure he implemented systems of economics and immigration reform, however he is responsible for the mess left in Central America and the Middle East aswell
reply

It figures that Lincoln would be number 1 on this list, I mean after all out of all the presidents in US history Lincoln truly changed the country for the better!

Im Right leaning but Reaganomics proved that Corporate Elitist America controls everyone below it and proved the elitism and classism that Reagan accused communism off.

Reagan was a corrupt politician who perpetuated the undermining of democracy after Nixon. Under dealings and full scale proxy wars that we are paying for to this day.
reply

Theodore Roosevelt is the goat, the dude literally made a speech while getting shot in the back, but kept speaking as if it was his normal day of his presidency.

Donald Trump - Currently ranked as The Worst President in US History & was the only President in History, World Leaders laughed at after he left the room.
