People tend to forget, but Krillin's death wasn't the _full_ breaking point for Super Saiyan. When Frieza survived the Spirit Bomb, he tortured Krillin by agonisingly blowing him up from the inside. but then he made it clear that the very next thing he was going to do was to do the exact same thing to Gohan. Krillin's death was a shock, but not enough in and of itself; it was seeing that unexpected death, being unable to save him, and knowing the exactly same thing was about to happen to Gohan and he had no way to prevent it, that pushed him over the edge. A combination of hitting his limit, rage, and desperation.
Which, when you think of it, means that Goku literally went Super Saiyan out of love for his son. And yet we call him a _bad_ parent.

R. I. P Akira Toriyama. As for the video, i'm suprised the original Broly's transformation isn't in this video from 1993. The song 10's Pantera playing while he transforms in the cliff with near by castle and his mouth almost ripping out of scream while his body exerts different energies with each in a different color till the last green energy comes . It was a scene worthy of the legendary super saiyan. Honestly Broly's og transformation, goku's first ssj on namek and frieza's final form are the best for me.

Most people forget that the manga that Toryiama did was already over by 1995. The anime Dragonball Z was done in 1996. It was Cartoon Network's Toonami that got the ball rolling for DBZ to kick the door down to allow other Japanese anime to flood the western markets. Akira the movie may have cracked the door, but it was DBZ that allowed other anime series like One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, and other shonen anime to gain popularity.

i remember those feelings of the og transformtions. gosh. but also growing up with it and getting to see things like ultra instict, gold frieza, mystic/beast gohan. just amazing. much less what is coming up. RIP AT. i hope your predecessors can live up to what he has given us.

My favorite ones are Ultra Instinct, Future Trunks going SSJ, and Goku going SSJ4 because there was an AMV back in the day set to the song Moonbaby from Godsmack that was awesome.
