Dredd was without question the best action movie on this list in my opinion. Karl Urban was fantastic and Lena Headey's Ma Ma was so great. I really wished we could have got a franchise with it. A Dredd movie that brough Judge Death into live action would have been so fantastic as well. It deserved more love than it got. One of the best non Marvel/DC comic book films ever.

I saw Long Kiss Goodnight on TV wondering why it wasn't a hit. Demolition Man MIGHT have made more money as an R movie. In fact, I've seen other PG-13 movies that were way closer to an R rating than D. M.. The Rock's costars of The Rundown is the main reason to watch the movie, NOT THE ROCK.

Both Ghost Dog and Thief get a shout out for their soundtracks, but no mention of Wang Chung's admirable soundtrack to To Live and Die in L. A. The music they created fits perfectly with the film's setting and time. Gotta give the band props for getting it right.

A long kiss Good night should be in the top 5 on this list. It was the 2nd best action film of 1996 after Nicholas Cage the Rock. You can watch it again and again. Would’ve done better if Geena Davis didn’t star in cutthroat island a year before

I remember watching Long Kiss when I was 14 and I was so obsessed with the way Sam Jackson lit his Zippo that I became obsessed with Zippos and only used Zippos for the next 20yrs. This movie will always be a part of my life.

Dredd, Demolition man, Edge of tomorrow, rundown, upgrade, shoot em up, are all excellent. Snow piercer is so good. J Lawrence should watch the long kiss good nite.

How about Manhunter, another William Peterson film also directed by Michael Mann. The first Hannibal Lector film with Succession's Brian Cox as the legendary serial killer and Tom Noonan as the main villain.

Long Kiss Goodnight is a great Christmas movie its up there with Die Hard. so glad The Rundown and Rock'N'Rolla made the list both have great action, quotable lines, lots of humor and are criminally underrated.

Ronin is a GREAT movie! Agree with this list. It's so underrated along with Kiss Kiss Bang Bang! Most of these movies didn't get the recognition they deserve. Haven't seen Snow Piercer yet but probably will.

Snow piercer does not deserve the number 1 spot. Although it was intense, it had the most anticlimactic ending. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang or The Long Kiss Goodnight should have been number 1.

Yeah actually I have to say that snowpeircer and what ever that Korean zombie film was that came out around the same time were incredible disappointing and extremely overrated.

Dredd was so good. Sad we probably won’t get sequels, the comics have so many stories it could adapt. I’d add the nice guys to the list another one that deserved a sequel
