One of the differences of sociopaths and psychopath is sociopaths lack the ability of empathy while apparently psychopaths are capable, thus psychopaths are more likely to retain some form of relationships while sociopaths have a hard time having one and may have multiple relationships.
Other than the relationship thing the ability to feel empathy or not makes me wonder if Billy in Scream is a sociopath, and perhaps Stu is the psychopath.
I could be wrong because even with the understanding of lack of empathy separating sociopaths and psychopaths I still struggle to tell the difference.

Malcolm MacDowell shines in each of his roles. But the one role that exemplifies insanity and cruelty beyond almost any other in cinematic history is his CALIGULA. Caligula is unbearable to watch the first time and impossible to watch a second time. I'd rather break my arm and shoulder again than have to watch even one minute again. However, as I don't want you to suffer, I suggest you read the Wikipedia article to get a general sense. Then you'll see why this madman's name is a byword for pure agony.

I love WM and this is a great topic. BUT. I thought I was going to get some academic or at least textbook examples of different types of sociopaths, since each one is unique. Being born with sociopathy is not like being the child who is likelier to catch a cold. You gave us the same thing each time. [His or her] ability to charm, lie, and be cruel is really disturbing to the audience.
Do you have anything _else_ to say, that would inform us about these crazies in the real world

Alex Forrest suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder not from Antisocial Personality Disorder. The way her character was written helps the misunderstanding but these are completely different disorders. Apples and oranges. About Amy Dunne. She's a psychopath not a sociopath. Still an Antisocial Personality Disorder and yet not the same as sociopathy. I love you Watchmojo, but you didn't even bother researching this time.

to those whom have never studied the DSM-5 and are confused by pop culture definitions:
psychopathy: cold, non-empathic
sociopathy: disregard for rules (systemic rules or otherwise, manipulative
--and are part of the spectrum of Antisocial Personality Disorder.
. you're welcome

For me, it would be Lotso.
Also, I would also put Alex DeLarge as one of the most evil kids in movies since he's doing horrible things at the young age of 15.
He's on par with Rhoda from The Bad Seed as an example that evil knows no age.

Nurse Ratchet Nah.
Louise Fletcher's character, Olivia Foxworth from the 1987 movie Flowers in the Attic is much more of a sociopath.
Heck, her character Kai Winn from Deep Space Nine was a narcissistic sociopath as well.

Thanks to Mr. Ripley, the term Ripley Syndrome was coined, so he has clearly succeeded in becoming a person who has a great influence on other people Thanks for interesting and valuable video as always

In Stephen King’s It both the book and the remake, bullies Henry and Patrick was classified as one being a sociopath while the other being a psychopath. I can’t remember which is which though.

Commodus was even worst then portrayed in Gladiator, but it was so intense that they tone him down or people wouldn't have buy it and found it unrealistic.

Alex Forrest had borderline personality disorder not sociopathy. They are in the same category of personality disordrrs though but differ slightly.

Your butchered pronunciation of Francoist Spain ticks me off. It's Spanish, not French. General Franco was a dictator not a connoiseur of fine wines.

Robert Mitchum's character in Night of the Hunter deserves a spot here.
And more recently the woman from the Japanese film The Audition.

Henry Lee Lucas ( Michael Rooker) should be on here. He is one of the best, most realistic and chilling Sociopaths in film.

Thank you for the update, WatchMojo! 1: 26 The hand that rocks the cradle was one of the most iconic horror movies of the 90s. .

What makes Nurse Ratched such a good villain is that she believes mind, body, and soul that she is in the right.
