Twin Peaks was a film
I only knew of the series, which I enjoyed once I relaxed re trying to understand it!
Oh Misery is so part of the list!
I remember when Stephen King adaptations were awful. then came Carrie, The Shining, The Shawshank Redemption etc. I now find Stephen King's writing dull and repetitive - he's more suited to teenage angst, but his film adaptations superb.
D. d. d. 'Dat's all folks!

One disturbing yet wholesomely brilliant film that should’ve made this list is Once Were Warriors. Rena Owen’s performance and the over all cast is criminally underrated. The movie depicts very vicious violence but as bad as the first half is hard to stomach the second half of the film makes it all worth watching. It’s truly one of my favorite movies in the human cannon

What they showed from Audition does not even come close to showing how disturbing that film is. Has by far the worst torture scene of any film. And the pretty girl is straight up one of the most twisted and cruel characters ever created.
reply

Funny games also had a 2000s remake that was redone by a American director and actors. which was disturbing as well just like the original. I always categorized it as a home invasion psychological thriller.
reply

It surprised me to see 'Event Horizon' mentioned at all! One of the very few horror movies I've watched, and come to find out it's some kind of homage to 'The Shining'. Liberate tut e met, ex inferis.

Eyes Wide Shut is an example of Cruise making a great film one of Kubrick’s worst. The suspension of disbelief goes into effect early as you need to pretend Cruise can act without making you cringe.

Knowing that Sanji from One Piece was inspired by Steve Buscemi from Reservoir Dogs, I just can’t look at either character the same way. Especially since Sanji is a chef and Mr Pink doesn’t tip
reply

Reservoir Dogs is my favorite Tarantino film.
Misery is the best Stephen King adaptation.
Crash is a genius film from a genius director.
Cape Fear was one of the best films of the 90s.

3 movies popped into mind that I thought were heart-wrenching and bummer disturbing,
1-Candyman 1992
2-South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut 1999
3-Wes Craven's New Nightmare 1994

Schindler's list. Fire walk with me was ridiculous because they finished a made for TV series with an R rated movie which was a huge disappointment for fans of the show.
reply

All these movies I couldn't even see because I'm a 90s kid and I'm very thankful. P. s. 33 year's later, I still haven't seen them and never will because I'm wimp.
reply

The 90's was all about entertainment that either provoked, shocked, pushed the envelope or challenged freedom of speech. There were a lot of films in that mix.
reply

Reservoir Dogs is just a crime movie. Eyes wide shut was just bad and a waste of time. Natural Born Killers was more comical and over the top than disturbing.
reply

Silence of the Lamb's definitely shows how great an actor Anthony Hopkins was/is. Also come one his role as Odin is definitely a contender for his best role
reply

10: 00 Anthony Hopkins is only in this movie for 25 minutes. Yet won the best actor Oscar. Talk about making the most of your screen time.
reply

That movie kids, in high school they made us watch that movie, it’s really surreal at the time watching that. It’s very dark and gritty.
reply

Audition should be banned and EVERY copy of it should be destroyed. An absolute HORROR. Who the F came up with that disgusting story
reply

I’m surprised Schindler’s List is not on the list. That movie is very difficult to watch because of the events of the Holocaust.
reply

I’ve seen bits of Funny Games, not seen Kids and Man Bites Dogs. The Silence Of The Lambs and Se7en are my top 2 from the list.
