1. Try just curling it straight away instead of straightening it? 2. Also, try using a hotter heat setting (use heat protector though) 3. Make sure you're hair is completely dry before curling. I usually dry my hair then leave it a few hours to ensure it's dry then curl it. 4. Try not to put too many products on your hair as it can weigh it down. I just use hairspray afterwards.

Could you talk about what kinds of irons work for this? I have tried it before on my hair, but I think my straightener is too wide. I think it's like 2 inches. It doesn't give my hair any curl (no matter how slowly I go) and the edges of my sections tend to spill off the sides of the pads. Do you have to have the type of iron with curved edges? Mine are flat. Help: )

thanks, this sounds like a good plan for special occasions: ) wouldn't like to do it all the time, sounds pretty damaging hahaseriously though, i've tried everything. i've even tried curling with an iron then putting the curl into a heated roller for half an hour, that can't be good for it either: P still fell out >: (

Question. What if the iron doesn't go down as smoothly as it does on your hair? The iron always gets stuck near my ends. I realize that this may be because they are a little split and on their way out, but. does it depend on the iron or the hair for the smoothness of moving the iron down the hair?

I used to do this as well, because it was way faster in the morning, but my hair goes stick straight after an hour or two if I curl with a streightning iron. How do I prevent this from happening? My natural hair texture is waivy, so that's not really the problem.

WHAT? I have been curling my hair with my straightener for years and I NEVER thought to just curl then drag straight down. I thought in order to get the curl you had to twist the straightener all the way down the hair. Thanks so much for uploading this.

You really shouldnt straighten it before hand, just try blow drying it straight and then curling Straightening with an iron does not only just cause more damage, but it sets the keratin in your hair to straight, and thus wont allow it to curl

One more trick, when I'm doing this once I get to the bottom of the hair I quickly re-wrap the curl up around the straightner before letting it go, it just makes it hold a little longer (for girls with straight uncurlable hair)
