Even as designers embrace a more diverse runway, for models of every shape and size, body acceptance is a long and winding road. Maya Singer speaks to some of them

Curious how many women have gone to treatment for EDs, or never at all, and didn't make it, because of Vogue. Curious how many s-icides were inspired by Vogue's pages. Curious how many times Anna Wintour called models too fat, and how many times the teams around her agreed like bobbleheads. I see through this bullsh-t. Happy for the ones who are now getting showcased, truly showed, like in a case. But, the historical context of Vogue, Anna Wintour, and everyone else involved will all always be one of pain, suffering, and superficial nonsense that didn't touch the world as much as they truly think it did (unless you count in the bad ways.

Why do we speak of society as if it's some sorta external force. lol it's literally us. we buy the magazines. we pay attention to ppl like Kim Kardashian. we are the top consumers of make up. we are the ones who drive the plastic surgery industry, someone just does the stats on what we seem to be interested in and they sell us more of it. who is this society you guys keep mentioning. speak directly bcuz I seem to be missing something.

This is one of the most short-sighted videos I've watched in a while. I find it so funny that they're talking about embracing diversity while only showing the types of women that have been allowed to perform and perpetuate beauty standards onto the rest of us. This is NOT representation. This entire video feels so fake smh

To me Vogue is a very hypocrite magazine back in the days they will not speak about different shape of bodies fat skinny woman-s and you-ll never see them in their cover of magazine but nowadays they don-t want to have a drama and they want to sell more so they open their horizons to different body and different shape!

This felt rushed and not to be celebrity crazed I-m just saying Ashley graham would-ve killed this too, willow smith would-ve killed this too, Megan fox would-ve been hella transparent she-s such an intellect and feminist, Kerry Washington the list for inclusivity and various body types goes on. just saying

What-s changed about fashion-s relationship with the body?
Now, we have a different relationship with ourselves. There-s so much more self-love and body positivity/the celebration and -acceptance- of different types of bodies, than there has been in the past. And that makes all the difference.

What is Kim talking about? Girl, you're not naturally your shape. You literally altered it so explain to me how can you truly relate to these other women wanting to be proud of their NATURAL bodies? I like her but she needs to STOP this. Vogue y'all lost me including her in this video.

It-s one to have no underweight models and women who are muscular and athletic, but no there is nothing positive about showcasing overweight and obese women! Nobody is forced to buy or read Vogue, I certainly don-t, but I look a piece of clothing online, I hate it when the model is obese-

I wish they didn't include Kim Kardashian: / she's apart of the reason why we have such unrealistic and unattainable standards in society for many woman all around. Someone who can't admit to being made of plastic shouldn't be on here showing there natural and loved body: /

Everyone in the comments is so salty. Thank you -vogue for moving the conversation forward and embracing the flow of changes that have taken place here in the fashion industry. We still have a long way to go but this growth is refreshing to witness.
