Max's is the ONLY place in philadelphia to get a real philly cheesesteak. stay away from the tourist spots. as for the price stated in the movie, its incorrect, it would have ran about 20 total. i mean you can get a roughly 2ft cheesesteak for 15. 99. if you dont believe me i hope you all choke on pat's or geno's nasty tourist sandwich. btw max's is at broad st & erie ave in north philly. dont be scared by the locals out there, they actually pretty cool people.

Idk if anyone knows what I'm talking about when I say this, but every Philly cheese steak I've ever had smells AMAZING when it's cooking, but when I go to bite into em, they've always been so bland; every time. Even when I lived in PA they were like that. The cheese whiz Philly's are a bit better imo only bc whiz has more flavor than the provolone, but it's really just saltier. Idk, maybe I've been just hitting bunk ass places.

I used to work at a hole in the wall joint in chicago. We had a Philly cheese steak-esque sandwich. Italian beef, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, mayo on one side & sour cream on the other, absolutely blanketed in melty mozz, on a foot long French bread. It was a heart attack waiting to happen but it is by far the best sandwich I've ever had, & even though people will always tell me it's not a true philly, it's delicious.

I eat 2-3 cheesesteaks a week. I like mine with extra American, salt pepper ketchup, fried onions, mayo. Ive only had 2 good cheesesteaks outside of Philly, and theyre both in Jersey. White House Subs in AC, and Hoagie Haven in Princeton.

Mayo is freaking gross butt ketchup on a cheese steak is awesome! And pretty normal. And American cheese. Forget that wiz. Its good on a Genos steak though.

The one I got in south philly. had velveeta on it. I hated it. I like a very good thinly shaved steak topped with provolone, mozzarella, ketchup and bacon.
