I wish they would have made both of these without alcohol and let them try it. That way it could have been judged just on the taste of the eggnog itself. I don't think that group likes alcohol much so it biased it.
For me I would go with Alton's every time though I might add a little cinamon or vanilla to taste. My reason is simple, I'm a lazy cook and one doesn't require cooking.

Then again, what does Jamie Oliver know about eggnog? He was never even raised on this gift from the Christmas gods. Biggest disappointment living in the UK was discovering that no one in England, Scotland and Ireland don-t even know what eggnog is. They drink a Christmas punch. hello. not for the weak.

My eggnog recipe is actually warm, using hot milk which cooks the eggs (beware scrambled yolks though. Raw eggs are not as much of a danger as people think though, especially if you use free range organic eggs (or, like me, has their hen-owning grandma give them some.

Who thought about it? -In the midst of making an omelette- I'll add warm spices, alcohol, and dairy to my raw frothed eggs, and make it a drink- Who thought about it? Why? What is the actual history of the drink?

I make my eggnog like Jamie's only after I temper the eggs I return it to the stove and cook it over very low heat, I don't add cinnamon, alcohol, or the eggwhites.

So basically you're drinking raw eggs with milk, sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon sticks in it?
-AMAZING-
