The reason why the fruit/sour beer is aged is because traditionally in belgium, the beer is made with aged brown beer (Oud Brown) with fruits(typically sour cherries) thrown into the barrel to start a new fermentation. With that, the natural yeast in the fruits start working and a lot of the natural sugars inside the fruits are used up in the process, leaving a delicate tangy taste in the process. That is also why the beer tend to have a brownish hue.

Sour beers are my absolute favorites. They unfortunately are also significantly more expensive than other types of beer. I also love Lambic Ales, which are also very expensive sadly.

I'm guessing this guy, who is amazing, knows most of these beers from the shape of the bottles. Now I have to ask- what is the point of not telling us, the viewer, which beer is what?

This bloke defo gave me an appreciation for beer I didn't have before, educated on the topic, well spoken, and generally kind of gentle.
