Here are 50 cooking tips to help you become a better chef! Celtic: Cool tips chef Ramsay, I especially liked the basmati aromatization but the pasta one is crap. I'm Italian and love a good pasta plate and I've never seen that in my entire life. Don't do it. Don't put oil in the boiling water. It's useless. The oil will just float in the water surface and you'll waste it. Besides, the pasta won't stick together unless you overcook it for like twice the time needed. And when you're done you'll have to clean oil from the pot which is annoying. And most importantly DO NOT add salt once the pasta is already cooked. You already salted the water when it was boiling. How my much you need? I've seen a lot of people (chefs included) mainly from usa and uk adding salt at the end. No. You don't want to feel crunchy salt in your mouth nor having an oversalted pasta!
Anyway the video is great and I just wanted to share this because I like chef Ramsay a lot and 99% of what he does is perfect but sometimes even he does silly stuff!

Heyyyy. That cloth he used for the chopping board tip is a wypall. I'm a trained chef too and I can safely say, wypalls are a chefs best friend and is TOTALLY worth the money. They are so versatile and they last for a really long time. I always spend the extra money to buy them in addition to normal kitchen tissues

How to keep your knifes sharp. Dump your Steel and invest in some Whetstones 1000 grit up to 10, 000 grit to get your knifes razor sharp. A colleague at work borrowed my 12 chefs knife and before using it instinctively began to use a chefs steel on it. It took me an hours work on whetstone to get the edge back.

My pet peeve watching cooking videos is when someone is chopping on their cutting board and it s sliding around all over the place. It feels like they could chop off a finger at any moment. Please follow the 2nd tip for goodness sake it will make your life so much easier

I have a question
If u put oil in the pastawater the sauce for the pasta will not stick that good, I'm Italien and my grandma said that to me but why does gordan do that if he would just put salt in it and stir the noodles it won't stick but nice video though.

I like the towel under the cutting board trick that is priceless thank you, shouldn't you also run the knife under water to get the metal shavings from contaminating your food? I always do nobody seems to rinse there knife after sharpening it.

I've figured out these tips through common sense and when I tell people a better way to do something (especially if it would help their hands not get sore) they look at me like I'm crazy and wrong when I'm actually right lol
