Just to let everybody know, this recipe was made just so they could promote the Hotpoint oven. I honestly don't like this Jamie. Please, share your passion with us and don't use and lose your loyal viewers by promoting new products and placing some unknown cook who does not know the difference between roasting and frying. Thanks, your viewers.

This honestly looks delicious and mouthwatering. Yes, it looks fried and has more grease compared to the usual roast potatoes but it would be nice to have this on special occasions. On a side note, this would be a guilty treat for all the vegeterians out there! (Without using goose/duck fat of course): D

Except for the lack of squashing the potatoes slightly (which is a very important step I think, this video is virtually identical to the one where Jamie shares his favorite roast potato recipe (also a Christmas video. But the recipe IS good though.

Fried doesn't mean bad for your health, if you are good at frying very little oil gets inside the food. what frying does is cooking the food evenly. Sadly when someone talks about frying, all they can think is food dripping with oil or fast food fries.

Good food does not have to be swimming in fat. Yes, she put that on paper and etc but really. No. No. And how did a vegetable dish suddenly turn into a poultry one. We like to add A LITTLE olive oil, mustard and garlic. Much better.

Those must be so delicious and decadent, perfect for Christmas dinner, but I would definitely stick to something less greasy to have as a side dish on a daily basis (with steak or something similar.

This commercial was FAR better made then the one Gennaro stumbled his way through. .but still. It IS a commercial. Did enjoy the thought of some awesome roast potatoes though.

Why is it everytime I try this they stick to my roasting tray? When I give them a shake halfway through cooking they just smash to bits because they're welded to the tray. Advice?

I would quite happily sit with a plate of those alone for my Chrimbo dinner. A little splash of vinegar goes down well with roasties too. So delicious. I love my roasties. Lee x

Too greasy for me. You can accomplish the same crunchy texture buy using just a small amount of healthy Olive oil and baking at a high temperature. No need for all the fat.
