This is one of my favorite treats that my grandmother would make when we would go picking apples at my uncle's farm. Of course we would cook a bushel of apples. But we would also take the other bushel and make applesauce. Actually I think my grandma used three bushels for her applesauce recipe.
I have to say I love a drizzle of whipping cream on top. The creaminess of the whipping cream cutting the butter and sugar. Absolutely delicious.

These are Apple Dews! My aunt JUST asked me today if I had made them for my little boy yet. she taught me how to make them when I was little! Our recipe is almost identical except we use crescent rolls and cut the apples into quarters before rolling them and we use Mountain Dew (hence the name. This is a confirmation I clearly need to make these for my little boy now lol

Now I've heard of an apple dumpling, pets and people being called apple dumpling as an endearing nickname. There was even a funny Disney movie called The Apple Dumpling Gang back in the 60'ss or 70's, But I've never seen or tasted one before. Yet I know this desert exists. This looks like a very easy and tasty dessert that screams Fall is Here.

Omg I'm SOOO excited for fall! Pulling out all my candle making supplies this week and making tons of pumpkin scented candles! Can't wait! These dumplings are definitely going on the menu, too!
Oh! I also can finally start using my homemade vanilla extract that I've had aging for the last year! Omg this is gonna be good!

Never made the dumplings but always had baked apples during the holiday season. The one thing I put in was the red hots for cooking. Just gave it that extra special kick. Sooooo good when it s cold. Guess I ll have to try the dumplings. Look so good.
