Siam Bangkok - A Guide of What to Do around Lub d Siam Square

For a map and description of everything to do in Siam, Bangkok, and Lub d Siam Square click this link - Siam, is one of the most famous and busy areas in all of Bangkok. It's the place to go if you're looking shop until you drop and get the latest in anything you need. I've stayed at Lub d Siam Square a number of times, and I'd definitely say that it's one of the best hostels in Bangkok, in an absolute prime location. I made this video for Lub d Siam Square, but all the information in the video and all everything is my own personal opinion. To begin this video I start at Lub d hostel where I exit and then take a walk across the street to MBK. MBK is a massive shopping center where you can find everything from souvenirs to clothes and electronics. The center is extremely famous for the entire floor of cell phones, both new and used. I didn't actually pick up a new cell phone, but if I really did need one, MBK would be a great place to get one. At MBK, in Siam Bangkok, you'll also find a huge food court with over 40 stalls serving mostly Thai food but also Vietnamese and Indian food. After MBK, I headed over to Siam Square, which is just across the street from MBK, and opposite Siam Paragon shopping center. Siam Square is a trendy little district of Siam where you'll find all sorts of local Bangkok designer clothes and trinkets. Another highlight of coming to Siam Square is the restaurants. Being quite hungry, I headed over to Som Tam Nua, a popular Bangkok restaurant serving Isan northeastern Thai food. The restaurant is nearly always busy and sometimes, especially if you go on a weekend you'll have to wait your turn. Anyway, if you're looking for good Thai food in Siam Square, head to Som Tam Nua. Siam Paragon and Siam Center are both just across the road and they are each mega shopping centers where you'll find lots of high end designer stores and plenty of restaurants. There's also a Bangkok luxury movie theater including a 4D cinema. Something I really like about Siam Bangkok is that you'll find quiet areas of the city within busy areas. Slotted in between Paragon and Central World is the Wat Pathum Wanaram, a Siam temple. You can go inside, walk around, and take some photos. It's just amazing that you're still in Siam when you're at the temple. About a 10 minute walk from Siam Square is the Erawan Shrine, a lively Hindu dedicated shrine. This shrine with a lot of history is a popular place for both tourists and Thais to come and seek good luck. You'll also be able to see a Thai dance performance at the Erawan Shrine. Central World is just across the street, and just like the other Siam Bangkok shopping malls, you'll find high end shops and restaurants. Outside of Central World is Trimurti Shrine, another popular shrine dedicated to finding love - can you see the roses? Moving on to Pratunam, which is about a 15 minute walk from Lub d Siam Square is Platinum fashion mall. This huge structure is clothing market complex indoors. It's huge and confusing, but if you're looking for Bangkok fashion, this is the place for you. Very close you'll also find Pantip Plaza, your one stop mall for all things electronic. Before heading back to Lub d Siam Square, I then stop by the Bangkok Art and Culture Center, which normally offers free exhibits, to see some of the latest art. hello mark. i love ur vids. i like most of the countrys you visit. and the foods you enjoy eating also. but what i like to know is. you sure enjoy eating all asia foods, but what is ur favorite countrys you enjoy eating foods most'? ,i just like to let you know. when you eating all asia foods especially thai. i just envy you enjoying the thai foods most, i hope you get to try isan food, you gonna say wow more. lol

Hi Mark. Bangkok looks so modern and yet has retained it's traditional landmarks. I can appreciate all the old siamese (is this correct usage) architecture and as always, the food looks amazing I read that Bangkok has surpassed Paris as the most visited city in the world and that parisians are being mandated by their local gov't to take lessons on how to be more polite to tourists.

I got soo lost in Siam Paragon because of it being basically 3 centres in one. suddenly I was in Siam Centre then in Siam Discovery, so confusing and so big After all, I always stick to markets and street food - more my world than fancy shopping centres Another good video Mark Regards from your fellow Chinese German friend once again: )

Hey Mark, any chance of you making a video of some of the stores inside those malls? Kinda curious about the kinds of local and international shops available there. Always get a kick out of stuff like that when I'm in Japan. BTW, I wonder how many people were waiting for you to go to the red light district. LOL

Oh good Mark, nice to see Siam again. I used to stay there every year with my wife, is a funny place and you have many things to do and eat we love to go to HK Marina restaurant 24h, beside the juce shop you show in your video. There you can find also a really good Isan food. Thanks for all your videos.

yes mark. i think i went to restaurant twice. 1st time was hungry after out of the tailor & voilaaaaa. 2nd time was brought to by a friend who said it's nice and famous. ok. just googled. it's macways tailor. yup. siam square. 392/13 and 392/14both right beside each other.

Mark, just curious but how much was the cell phone you bought? You know what they say about those canal boats - don't grin while riding. You might get an accidental taste of something not so pleasant. I'm not sure how much those canals have been cleaned up.

Hey, that's hard to say. overall I like Bangkok because it's such an exciting city, but I do also love the mixture of cultures in KL. I also really loved Yangon However, I think I still would say Bangkok because it's so huge and has o much to offer.

Thanks for the video. All your video are useful. Im planning to go to bangkok in nov16. Can advise which area are suitable to stay? Chinatown or siam square? Plan to go around at grand palace and its surrounding, chatuchak market, khao san road.
