Pat Radna Moo Noom ( ) might look just like an ordinary Thai Chinese restaurant for the outside, but its actually quite a gem of a restaurant. All details here - Pat Radna Moo Noom ( ) is a restaurant in the Bang Kapi area of Bangkok, about 30 minutes or so from the center of the city. Its an area I dont know too well, but an area thats full of wonderful local restaurants to be explored. One day, Ying and I were in the area, and we were hungry for lunch, so Ying had heard of this place, and we went to check it out. Pat Radna Moo Noom ( ) is just a local neighborhood, sort of hole in the wall restaurant, that specializes in Thai Chinese food. But they don't just serve typical Thai Chinese food, they serve some really unique dishes, things I had never seen before on Thai menu, especially a Thai street food menu like this. The first dish we ordered was khao pad kana bao heua, Thai fried rice, stir fried with Chinese broccoli and what I think was abalone. This was the first dish I tried, and it actually proved to probably be my favorite dish of the meal as well. The rice was fried on an incredibly hot fire, so I could taste the slight burnt charred flavor. There was egg in it and also that beautiful broccoli and abalone. But the most interesting part of the fried rice, was that they had mixed in raw little dices of cucumber, which gave the entire dish a nice crunch and a freshness to it. We also ordered radna pla dao si. Radna is a common Thai dish, made with wide rice noodles, covered in a thick gravy sauce usually made from pork and Chinese broccoli. Their version did use wide rice noodles, but the sauce was made from black bean sauce, and had pieces of fried fish in it, and also some small vegetables. It was very good, and with a splash of chili vinegar, it was even better. Pla pad keun chai, fish stir fried with celery, is a dish I often enjoy eating, especially when I go to any Thai Chinese restaurant. They didnt disappoint at Pat Radna Moo Noom (, the fish was fried and crispy, and it was stir fried with plenty of baby celery, ginger, and chilies - great flavor and nice dish. And the final dish we ordered, something I had never before eaten in Thailand, especially at a street food restaurant like this, was nguong kway goong, a stir fry combination of shrimp, gingko nuts, jujube Chinese dates, and cashew nuts, all fried in a glaze of what I think was oyster sauce and soy sauce. It was a very interesting combo, but it was quite tasty. Overall, a very good lunch, and I especially loved that abalone fried rice. Address: Happy Land 1 Yaek 3, Khlong Chan, Bang Kapi, Bangkok

I have to laugh at the way you eat chilies. We grow some of the ones we eat and dry for later. This year I got one from A&M (agriculture college) and tried it. It has less heat than a habanero. We live in Texas (yea) so peppers and Latinos go hand in hand. Took a few to work for a co-worker and a guy grabbed one and took a bite. Lit him up like fireworks. He's from Mexico. His face flushed and he drank a lot of milk that day. Too funny. She made tamales with them diced inside. They were so good. When you eat chilies your face doesn't change too much. When my coworker ate one, I just wished I would have taken a picture. Great video Mark as I liked all the veggies. You're right about the celery, the leaves have a delectable flavor Good eating.

Nice video Mark. Here is an idea for you. Do you have a plan to make a video about all those spices and sauces? I mean a whole video dedicated to sauces and spices you can find on a table of a street vendor/restaurant along with the tips of how to look for them or avoid them. For example, I really dislike that fish sauce and totally dig for spicy vinegar. Of course one can simply smell and decide which one to go for but still, some of them are odorless yet have very strong tastes which is kind of a bummer sometimes. Cheers.

I thought that those cubes of cucumber in fried rice originated from Thailand. I have been finding them regularly in the Nasi Goreng Kerabu, a fried rice with Thai twist, at this Thai restaurant near my house. Hmm, I wonder where it actually originated from now haha

It's Sunday morning, 9am, pouring rain outside, dark and gloomy, still in bed and watching this video sure made me hungry. Thanks Mark, I can't get that kind of food in Toronto Canada. But still love your videos.

Typical Cantonese food. Definitely going to try the stall. Black beans with fish/noodles is one of my favourites. For the final dish, it is normally served in a taro basket. The red thing is actually a Chinese date

Since I ate Khao pad kana before, I think it isn't raw cucumber mixed in fried rice. But it is Chinese broccoli stem which they peeled the green off, so it still crunchy after flash stir fried. _

Great looking Chinese style dishes. I don't think its abalone in that fried rice unless its super cheap in Thailand because it looked a generous serving of it in that delicious fried rice: D
