interestingly, most Singaporean versions use ketchup-style chilli sauce and the use of sambal could be indigenous to southeast Asia or influenced by the Cantonese style chilli oil. the char siew is also prepared differently in many parts of Singapore, sometimes it is braised, sometimes it is roasted, it all depends on the type of stall you patronise. Regardless, you should try the Malaysian and Hong Kong styles too

Wanton noodles from that stall can be ordered in, 1) chilli- what you had; 2) ketchup- for the non chilli lovers; 3) ketchup and chilli- surprisingly a nice combo; 4) black sauce and chilli- for a savory kickAnd the permutations goes on.

My favorite food of all the foods in the universe. Wonton Mein. Wonton Noodle Soup. Wonton Egg Noodle Soup. Wonton Combination Egg Noodle Soup. Wonton and Seafood and Pork Egg Noodle Soup. Any way this dish is served is better than pepperoni pizza or hamburgers or anything in the world.

3. 00-3. 50? No offence but thats very expensive for a plate of plain looking wanton mee. The char siew don't even look that great. just pork with coloring, maybe trying to use Mark to promote? But still another great VD from Mark thumbs up

i'm not sure if you did but you should have tried the bigger dumplings they sell as well. its essentially the same thing as the wontons but filled with more meat with the addition of shrimp and water chestnuts. the flavor is outstanding.

I don't know about anyone else but my most favorite thing to watch Mark eat is noodles So so satisfying. and the lady's smile after Mark took the first bite is precious and is exactly my reaction to the screen every time

Wonton mee is great but I have to say this. Wonton mee and sambal definite not kosher or should I say Ying and Yang. It is like eating nasi lemak and you decide to improve it with some soy sauce. sorry, just my thoughts.

You should visit that hawker stall on a Sunday morning the next time There is a very good prata stall, laksa stall, vegetarian noodles and carrot cake stall that always a long line which runs out by about 11 in the morning
