I consider it an insult or cheer expression of incompetence or whatnot I-hate-my-job-and-don't-give-a-rat-arse attitude translating into don't ever eat there, what they did to you with this fried artichoke serving. They should've asked you if you had eaten this before and told you that, even thought it looks amazing like a eat-me-all-now thing, that unless you are a beaver who usually eat trees for a living, the outer shell is not edible, like a wooden chair or spoon but looks more palatable. There is also a strange not so secret thing that says, if your time is too valuable or you're too important to take proper care of your customers when you serve food, make sure everything in the plate can be eaten. Still, people should hint a waiter that they've never eaten something before or ask how to eat something, assuming you speak the language: ( One could get seriously hurt.

Hi - just a clarification note. The dome of St Peters is not Michelangelos design. After his death, his spherical design was scrapped by the new architect, Giacomo Della Porta, in favour of a much more elliptically shaped dome. Oh - and if you come back to Rome, why not try the Romans boozy coffee - the Caffe Corretto - with brandy (al brandy) or with anise liqueur (alla Sambuca. It is guaranteed to grow Roman hairs on your chest

I think that Nonna Betta restaurant was expensive also the menu was nothing typical Roman. You need to ask local people where to experience the real culture as there are just too many restaurants in Rome where you can eat the true traditional dishes. But beautiful video and TOP experience as usual from you, thanks for sharing.

I'm sure that an American experiencing the real Roman food has never tasted it before, becouse the italian-american cuisine nothing (really nothing) has to do with the local one (chiken parmigiana? What? spaghetti & meatballs? what? and so on. they have in USA fake italian recipes.

Come to Naples - I'm British but I live near Napoli and you have to try the pizza from the birthplace of pizza and spaghetti alle vongole/lupini - and the sunsets here - I've lived in so many countries but I've never seen sunsets as beautiful as those from Vesuvius to Capri/Naples

I would recommend you Tuscany. Just land in Florence and then drive to Chianti. You will have an extraordinary culinary experience, and you will taste great wines Make a reservation to Malborghetto di Lecchi, and enjoy food from Simone, which is a great Chef
