Rome Food Tour at Mercato Testaccio: Prosciutto and Buffalo Mozzarella lazios: A little hint for non-Italians (sry I use google translator, when you eat prosciutto and mozzarella (this applies to almost every Italian food) you have to eat them together, sure are good even by themselves but it's the combination that works; the mozzarella sweet taste and the prosciutto strongest flavor. This happens for many other combinations (try asking the waiter) like with prosciutto and melon or all the many cheeses combinations (fresh or aged) with honey and jam. Another little thing, with cold cuts, cheeses, meat, side dishes. etc use the bread like you do with rice (pasta excluded, we use bread with pasta only to make the scarpetta for sauce, because bread is essential to cleaning the palate (its neutral taste helps when the cheese, salami etc are strong. Nice video and nice the way you treat food, ciao.

Hi Ying and Mark, I was disappointed that you chaps did not try the Spaghetti Marinara (Not in tomato sauce but the Marinara in Olive Oil and Garlic) which is out of this world. I am not a fan of Italian food; as they cook everything with tomatoes however; the only Italian dish I liked was the Spaghetti Marinara that had large prawns, a generous service of Lobster heaps of garlic, baby clams and parsley. I had a good Italian mate who was a chef and came from Northern Italy, who used to cook the knock out dish for my wife and I. These days should I finish up in an Italian restaurant and I order Spaghetti Marinara, 99 times out of a hundred they cook it with a tomato sauce, and it is never the same. Should you have the opportunity to get back to Italy in the future, go to Venice and they will cook you a mind blowing authentic Spaghetti Marinara.

i honestly don't understand your whole logic with not wanting to rate food, so for example you probably feel like when making these videos you don't wanna disrespect the food, that i obviously understand but when those same people that are so quick to dismiss/disrespect the food in YOUR country when you are tasting/trying their food, the second you start comparing it to food in your country, they disrespect your countries food by being biased, 1 example: weins: oh i would love to try this chinese roasted chickenchinese vendor: where are you from foreigner? weins: oh im from brazil/america/mexico/etc. chinese vendor: oh well we have the best roasted chicken, better than brazil/america/mexicodon't you dare tell me this doesnt happen too often?

though it was store bought here in the UK I quite like the Prosciutto though I might like the chorizo better as that is spicy and too much of Prosciutto does tend to upset my stomach unfortunately. also store bought but i did try that gnocchi at first never heard of it before and it looked like little maggots in the packet but was quite good too though we had it in tomato sauce instead of cheese when we had it for dinner. .anyway, getting there in almost finishing this playlist vid 16/39. i think this is the last playlist of yours i needed to watch to have watched all of them. I get soo hungry when watching too. great work

I am noticing that I can not come here in a bad mood and leave in a bad mood. Mark has this thing that just exudes good vibes. I catch myself smiling as intensely as he does when he is smiling. (Which is constantly) I havent the means to eat as well as he. But I enjoy the vicarious experience.

Fiaschetteria, means that they were selling wine, gnocchi are made 95%potatoes and it is consider more like a dumpling not pasta, at the end u r eating straccetti di carne con arugula, most the places that i saw u eating r called trattorie/osterie they r not ristoranti just for u to know
