That herb is called Thyme. It is Asian Thyme. I loves this herb. It does not goes with Pho. Pho is Vietnamese soup Noodles. It is not Cambodian food. Loves and crazy for Khmer foods. If I go to Cambodia I may not leaves. And all I will think about is Khmer foods. I used to eat spicy foods. But never even 1/3 of what Mark Wiens eats. This got me a very bad disease. When you hit a certain and you eat spicy foods you will get at least two types of very bad diseases.

Mark pronounced all the Cambodian's food name all wrong. One is called, Prahok. The other is a non Cambodian dish made with dried salty fish, grounded Pork and Egg. And it is a Chinese food not Cambodian food. The one you said that it tasted like Eggplants. It is Eggplants boiled then stir fried with chopped Scallions, Krasang ( a sour fruit flush with seeds. It is green fruit with hard shell. ) and with Prahok which is a fermented Fish.

I love this. I love your videos and travels. I can't wait to visit with my family. Just a side note, It's not Vietnamese pho. There is a difference. I personally prefer the Cambodian style and they don't call it pho, its called Kathio. Not sure how to spell that but it's not pho. Both are delicious but Cambodian kathio is just so much more flavorful to me. That's probably why you said it was one of the best you've ever had

Those Khmer dishes on that table are all my favorite They are what we normally eat for lunch and dinner. Sometimes, I get tired of eating Khmer food twice a day so often, but this video boosts up my appetize high up. By the way, that pancake is called Trey Pro Ma, which literally means boeseman croaker. It's the name of the fish that's fermented and mixed in that egg and pork to add the salty flavor of that dish.

What an amazing Khmer feast And such a cheap price for all the foods you received. I bet you all had to go back to the hotel and pass out after that. This didn't look like the traditional curry you have in other episodes. It looked more like a lot of home made casseroles.

Vietnamese pho. Really? Khmers do not call this, but by a Khmer name and have ate broth noodles before Westerners called it pho. It was eaten before the country of Vietnam was formed (post WWII) in Kampuchea and before pre French colonization during the Khmer Empire. Cheers

Two spoons of chili sauce then half a bowl of red chili, wow. That bowl of pho must taste like 100, 000 scoville heat unit. Wish he had the Cambodian noodle instead of pho.

Poor Micah, no Taco Bell or McDonalds for him, forced to eat gourmet food specialties from around the world. Just don't put chili oil in his formula just yet.
