Bakers tend to work very different hours than you and me-they often start while some of us are still at the bar. So when we approached the ladies of Greenpoint bakery Ovenly to do an episode of Chef's Night Out, they let us know that it would probably be more appropriate to call this episode Chef's Afternoon Out. Things get started around 2: 30 PM as Agatha and Erin end their shift at Ovenly and walk down the street to fellow Greenpoint eatery Alameda. Although Alameda isn't open yet owner-chef Nic Padilla makes a special exception and serves up a feast of country p-t-, oysters, and cheese fries. Running a bit ahead of schedule, the ladies decide to make an impromptu stop at the North Brooklyn institution Peter Pan Donuts for coffee and treats. Then it's off to The Commodore, where we were very excited to finally shoot since the head chef is such a big fan of the show. There, Agatha and Erin are met by their fellow baking industry friends to discuss the finer points of production baking over nachos and frozen drinks. The group then heads to their last stop, Allswell. Things start off by downing some shots of calvados, followed by small plates of anchovy fritters, radish salad, and the like. Then finally, it's back to Ovenly to wrap up the day by popping some champagne and enjoy some of the sour beer cake the ladies made earlier in the day. I work in the food industry also and I find it great that these ladies can find some time off to party and enjoy themselves (since I know how much time and dedication it takes. I just hope that they don't do like my boss when they show up for the -after party- at their workplace and turn it into a second nightclub, making the employees clean up everything all over again (either that same night or the next day when they show up for their shifts) and of course not paying for anything. not a very smooth thing to do for the staff if thats the case here. Sorry for any grammar or spelling, french here: )

These girls seem disingenuous and dull. Watching them in this episode was a bit painful, like watching 13 year old nerds try to fit in with the cheerleaders. They are boring because their comments are just about what they are going to do 5 minutes later and they act as though they are privileged to act slightly obnoxious. Intentional or not, they sounded like huge losers commenting about drinking at 3pm, taking a shot before dinner, and drinking from the bottle. Kids do that, they feel cool because you do what kids do.

Good that you had an enjoyable day/night. I have read some of the comments previously and I think most are posted by young frustrated boys. As a 46 year old man I suggest you grow up and stop with the moronic comments. This episode showed women being successful, working hard and having a night off with like minded friends. Nothing else needs to be read into the situation. And best of luck ladies with you establishments.

This wasn't a good Chef's Night Out. not because they're women which is what some y'all will assume. It just wasn't interesting. Usually they have really great and Interesting chefs eating really great food and getting absolutely trashed while doing it. They ate nachos and cheese fries while drinking Pina colada. The personality and drunken adventures just weren't there and that's ok.

The problem isn-t these women having a good time at some decent eateries, it-s the bros that make up the majority of Munchies- audience that think it-s not okay to be pretentious but it-s okay to be an asshole and hate on women. I-m not even into pastries or whatever they make, but does every CNO episode they put out have to be dudes making pizza and downing shots?

so they quit there high paying jobs. came out the closet. and settled with a job that likely pays shit and no benefits rrsp/retirement plan. but there doing something they like? hopefully they enjoy and are able to do it right up until there last days because there gona need to.

Is the dude at 3: 37 Brian Redban's long lost, twin brother? LMAO. Great episode as usual, not usually into the baking/pastry scene but that footage of that dark ass beer and butter in the beginning HOOKED me! Plus all the ladies. time to get into the baking arts hahaha!

love your guys ambition, but i honestly stopped whatching at 4: 50. treat your peers with respect, even though you said you were only kidding about the door thing a couple of modern women like yourselves should humble yourselves when around equals

Everyone here is talking about this like it's white feminism vs. white male patriarchy. Don't get me wrong, white male patriarchy is aweful, but one of the more pressing issues here is that these women are a part of the gentrification of Brooklyn.

i think the people that have been watching this for a while are expecting something very particular. I've only been watching for a month and I've enjoyed every single video, including this one. The hate is coming from bias people
