Swedish meatballs? There is nothing swedish about those. Swedish meatballs are made out of pork and beefmince along with oninons, breadcrumbs, egg and maybe cream. Then you simply roll them into balls and fry them. When they're cooked you remove them from the pan and cook the sauce by simply adding cream, soy and maybe meat broth to the pan you cooked the meatballs in. Then just season the sauce with salt and pepper. And lastly, you serve the sauce and the meatballs SEPARATLY. Why americans think that the meatballs are served in the sauce is beyond me. I have nothing against you buying frozen meatballs but what is the point of the video if you don't even show how you make your swedish meatballs? Anyone can fry frozen meatballs.

Hello Sam. Just discovered your videos recently, but already one of my favorite things. Of all your videos that I have seen, I guess you were most dissatisfied with this Swedish meatball outcome, at least judging from your own reaction. Since we have similar flavor profiles, would suggest that the next time, add cumin, onion powder and finely chopped green chillies to the meatball cooking. And then maybe some lime and more Worcestershire with the white sauce? Just a random suggestion from an amateur.

i'd say we'd make 'em slightly different in sweden, hehe. as far as ikea goes, i couldn't tell. but there's no doubt in my mind that what you just did probably tasted great. fyi, if you want to take the swedish concept even further you gotta have some lingonberrys and mashed/boiled potatoes and the icing on the cake would be the pickled cucumber with parsley. all those things together with the gravy, a recipe for success!

This looks so silly to me, the biggest reason you make the meatballs yourself is that the sauce will get all the flavor from the juices that come off of them, that sauce has almost no flavor (except garlic, mustard and fermented anchovies) The sauce should be lightbrown and super rich, a flavor bomb to add to your mashed potaotes. Also lingonberrys and rye-malt bread, thats whats up. Cheers.

Seriously? Im Swedish and these crappy meatballs has nothing to do with Swedish meatballs. Why even call the video Swedish meatballs if you gonna use storebought crappy frozen things that probably contain about 30% meat. The sause was the hero in this dish, why not call the video How to make a cream sause or something? Always liked all your videos uptil now. But this is just sad.

REALLY. Frozen Meatballs. they look like shit. never compensate making fresh food for the sake of time, it takes 5 extra minutes to make good fresh meatballs and they'll taste 100 times better than pre-made FROZEN shite! The food looks nice but i would never think of buying store bought anything, not when it compromises on taste and freshness. Fresh Ingredients all the time people!

Sam if you're still able to see comments on this video, i did you're recipe and it came out amazing! I changed it up. when the meatballs were done, i added tortellini, mozz, parm, and colby jack cheese, then baked on 350 degrees til the cheese melted. if you think it's worth trying yourself I'd be glad to hear your opinion on that.

So I just made these. Didn't have white flour so I used wheat flour. Didn't have heavy cream so I mixed milk with butter. Forgot to put in the garlic power. But hey! Tastes pretty gooood. Thank you for motivating me everyday to cook on my own!
