quick recap: dude is quick to tell us it's not a hype spot and he is a connoisseur because he has eaten cutlets before apparently but no vodka in the vodka sauce, no pine nuts in the pesto and no carrots or celery in the soffrito. so basically using a bunch of hype words with no clue what they mean. hey, at least the bread looks nice!
reply

I'm calling it a private equity food spot. just too much focus on the aesthetics than the actual food. looks very good for the photo but man there's a lot of core ingredients missing from food. there's just a certain polished look about the entire operation that screams fake
reply

I'm not a sandwich person really but it looks okay. But I can't stand a sandwich that goes all over the place. Don't drown it That's exactly what you did. But considering that he never makes them himself anyway doesn't matter.
reply

I respect these guys for making everything from scratch. Unfortunately the actual sandwich assembly is horrendous! Wayy too much sauce. This is a sandwich, not a soup. Why would you even think serving this slop is acceptable
reply

Cheapest possible ingredients is what it takes to make it in NYC and still pay your property taxes. Literally fried chicken cutlet and tomato sauce and we're to believe this is really good Not falling for this joke.
reply

The chicken is cut too thin, should be meaty and juicy. The pesto sauce is unnecessary. He doesn't know much about Italian cooking if he thinks that vodka doesn't add anything to the vodka sauce.
reply

How can he call it a vodka sauce when there is no vodka in it! Similar with no pine nuts in pesto. If he thinks doesn’t add anything, fine but stop saying it’s vodka sauce!
reply

Looks garbage, dry chicken, no pinenuts in the pesto, and then goes to make and call it chicken vodka sauce without any vodkaI can smell a lawsuit on the horizon
reply

No vodka in the vodka sauce
No pine nuts in the pesto
Seems like 100% hype to me
The Italians are gonna have a field day with this guy in the comments

I'm banging that guy's girl while he's at work and he doesn't even know it. I even come in the restaurant every two days and leave a tip. Man I love nyc
reply

Alla vodka sauce with no vodka or dried cheese. He just made a really dank tomato soup though. The sandwich did look very dank but weird to call it alla vodka.
reply

the comments from everyine who has never tried this sandwich but willing to criticize it. The owner laughs at you as their is a line everyday for his stores
reply

Why do American don't make sandwich that you actually eat without losing half of it on the floor. And sauce should be inside the sandwich not on the bread.
reply

I honestly don't think NYers have an original bone in their body. All of them seem to have no taste or desire other than chasing what they see on social media.
reply

When I get a sandwich, I dont want the entire outside drenched in sauce. Looks great for social media, but not fun to eat on the go
reply

Sparkling water for the dredge. but by the time you stir it and let it sit out, its gone completely flat. actually contributes nothing.
reply

This place is pure hype. Been multiple times because of the hype and living nearby. whoever does their marketing is the real master.
reply

Vodka extracts more flavour from spices / ingredients than water-based liquids. Which is why it should be included. Supposedly.
reply

From what I know pesto genovese is one specifically with pine nuts. Surely he gets a pass just saying pesto, without the genoa part.
reply

so it basically just is chicken parm on bread. no vodka in the vodka sauce, then maybe just change the name to tomato sauce
