Melissa: Sam, I used to work at a small grocery store and one of the things we used to make for the lunch crowd was a sausage roll and a ham and swiss roll. You take bread or pizza dough, roll it out into a rectangle. For sausage: (layer on cooked italian sausage, onion and peppers, top with cheese of preference, we did mozz) for ham: ( layer on sliced deli ham, swiss and onion) roll like a pinwheel, seal edges and bake. We did huge ones and sliced like you did with the braided buffalo chicken pizza. It was long enough ago so I don't remember how long it baked. Then, when I worked at a local pizzeria I was craving the flavors of the ham swiss and onion one so tried it in a calzone with ricotta. The flavor is fantastic. I hope you will try it, It is amazing.

Hey Sam, Love what you do. I noticed you always talk about how you salivate right before you eat. I am a med student in ohio and i think i can teach you a little something about why that happens! right before you are about to eat a meal your body knows this and begins to activate your parasympathetic nervous system or your rest and repose system. this is the opposite to the fight or flight system. your body releases hormones that promote digestion which begins in your mouth with saliva. so basically your body is saying oh hell Fu#ing yeah time to enjoy

Not related fully to the video but can i ask why pizza is so. underwhelming in america? Like. why is everybody on yt making this new york style pizza that basically dough, tomato sauce, cheese and pepperoni. thats so frickibg simplistic. everywhere in my country pizza has a variety of thinga on it. different types of salami, cheese, everywhere u see either mushrooms or olives in it, sometimes peppers. like why does it seem so underwhelming. at least this calzone pizza seems way more interesting then the plain all new york style.

This recipe has changed my life. I make this for the fam every other Friday or Saturday. You must use the instant yeast, but I let my dough rise for at least 4 to 5 hours. The key is to make sure the dough stays moist and sticky. Adding a little more flour at the end to prevent the dough from sticking to your hands is better than an over floured dry dough ball. The final product gets better every time I try the recipe. Lastly, try using King oyster mushrooms! They are even better in my opinion. Good luck!

For me I am NOT A FAN of mushroom ANYTHING in a pizza! And honestly the ONLY vegetables I have ever had in a pizza or calzone has been tomato sauce AND Jalapeno peppers and that is it! And more personally I am a meat lover type person. so add the bacon, ham, pepperoni, sausage and ALL the burger you want. then the ONLY vegetable on the pizza or calzone IS TOMATO SAUCE of some kind and that is all as long as you don't spare the cheese!

This was the first recipe of yours that I made. I did two of them and I was in fat kid heaven! I love the sauce and I've made several different variations of it for different things. My favorite adaptation was a meat sauce with Italian sausage and ground beef, bell peppers, jalapenos, and Portabella mushrooms over deep fried raviolis with Cotija cheese. Delicious! Thank you for inspiring me to cook again!

Where is the video DESCRIPTION? I don't want to wait for a bunch of commercials to play before being allowed to see what the video is about! Calzone pizza pocket is not descriptive enough! I don't have the patience to sit through half an hour only to find out it's not what could be useful for me. I guess Youtube wants us to go elsewhere for cooking info. Really sucks

Oh man, this looks good. Wish I was still eating pork, so I thought when I make this I'll use spiced ground chicken and maybe use some smoked paprika or chili flakes or chipotle? Love your creativity Sam. I'm a newbie viewer and really appreciate your style of cooking and interaction with us viewers.
