I'm glad that so many of these dishes have traveled to where I live in Perth, Western Australia courtesy of the Chinese community from Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia etc. When I worked in West Perth we would have restaurants that we would frequent for lunch in the neighbouring and not so neighbouring suburbs depending on what the consensus was on what we felt like. From memory there was about three different wonton noodle places, a couple of dimsum places, a 'duck/rice' place and then a place that did duck/rice and dimsum for the days we couldn't decide (which for a high percentage of times coincided with the day it was shut. Even when I was in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea for six months I would meet a college and his wife for dimsum each Saturday morning. In spite of all of that you still showed so many exciting dishes to try first in your Singapore video and now with Hong Kong, sp thanks heaps!

Great long video Sam absolutely loved it and wish I could make it to many different places one day but poor doesn't get me anywhere so I do all my wonderful cooking right at home! I'm going to try to recreate something there in a minor capacity with hopefully minor failure lol love the long video and great work and I'm glad you thoroughly enjoyed it! By the way it doesn't look like anybody won a knife from that video!

That was fantastic I am literally full lol the one thing that you must eat when you come back and come to New York and go to Little Italy you have to find a little Italian place somewhere that serves tripe marinara over biscotti with the black pepper OMG it's fantastic anyway keep up the good work on the videos.

G, the comments that you just made about tripe that is my number one favorite food in the entire universe. I’ve been eating it for 28 years and I now have the NEPA tribe tour. It is the most delicious delicacy I’ve ever eaten if you get the opportunity just try it you will like it.

Sam, when you come to the U. K. PLEASE come to Scotland, specifically Glasgow/Edinburgh! You'll fall in love with the food. We have the best steaks in the world, and a few inventive desserts, like the deep friend Mars Bar. I love your videos like these, you should have your own travel show!

I've been to HK several times while in the Navy while it was still under British rule, always liked eating at
Fernado's Hideaway near the water front. The best meal I ever had was at a missionary's home in Okinawa.
Their Asian cooks made dishes that still make me drool.

Nice to enjoy a longer STCG vid. This will be the last one I can watch for a while. (No details, just living in hard times) I'm hoping to see your version of an oyster omellette and/or soy noodles when I'm able to tune in again. Thanks for the inspiration and entertainment!

Just a note to your camera/editing team. A lot of countries use 50hz electricity, which means the lights flicker at 50hz. This creates a distracting flicker in video shot in 30 or 60 fps. Many cameras have an anti-flicker filter setting you can change to eliminate this.

Just saw Dave Meyers in a photo on the wall behind you when you had the oyster omelette. Dave is English and one half of the Hairy Bikers with Si King. Dave recently passed away. They travelled around the world on motorbikes cooking and eating along the way.

Sam all that food looked great but just a hint, when you motioned for Virginia to come into the shoot you should have had your palm down, the way you signaled her is the same motion as wiping your ass and in many places that is an insult. Just an FYI

Great but since the Chinese have gone back on their word and usurped Honk Kong and are arresting people who speak out against communism, I won't be patronizing and supporting HK until it is free again.
Shame on all you media people supporting communism.

This is an incredible episode! I love your fellow Canadian friend; she's lovely. I want to try everything! And all the people there in Hong Kong look so healthy. Many healthy looking elders. That food! Thank you for this, Sam and Max.

I’m sitting here drinking too much of an awarded Zinfandel and SUPER JEALOUS of these great dishes! Saddest thing is, we have enough airline miles to go, but my misses won’t because she is afraid of accidentally eating gluten. A

MY WORLD'S ARE COLLIDING! First you taught me how to cook in Columbus, Ohio during the pandemic. And now you're in my new adopted city! If I see you out and about, I hope you'll let me buy you a beer or insert drink of your choice

Us old folks know dumbwaiters. Oh, I'm not a fan of tofu, but I love calamari (you called it squid. I would definitely eat all the other meals. Where did Virginia go

Amazing. Should have also gone down to Aberdeen and the wet market, buy some fresh seafood and then bring it upstairs to get it cooked. Getting fresh seafood and having it cooked is wonderful
