sam and boys, i'd love love love to see you do something with wild rice! got a whole bunch of bags from a friend and i've never done anything with it before, so i could use the help. still getting my footing with cooking after 30 years of life but so far my family's loved everything i've done haha. got a few of your recipes bookmarked to make, too! oh and a bonus - i've got a few frozen walleye fillets i'm clueless on, too. so any help there would be appreciated!

Can you jazz up my tried and true chicken fiesta dish
1lb chicken breast, cubed
Taco seasoning - to your liking
1 cup chunky salsa
Half cup peach jelly
Rice, cooked
Cube chicken and cook in a pan with oil and taco seasoning until mostly done.
Mix salsa and jelly into a sauce. Pour over chicken in pan. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes or until chicken is done.
Serve over rice.
Any suggestions Improvements But try mine first.

Dude, I’m so disappointed! You let it cool down before you ate it!
I had grown to believe you have asbestos coating your tongue because you eat this steaming hot stuff and don’t seem to burn your mouth like the rest of humanity! It’s why I come to watch. Well okay the recipes are good but it’s mainly for that initial reaction of, oh crap this is hot look on your face!

I'd hate to say it but I'm slowly but surely becoming a ranch over blue cheese guy. I never thought the day would come, but damn, it's so much easier to find good ranch than it is to find good blue cheese.
Feel like this could be good on anything. Baked potato, some spaghetti, rice, a nice roll. whatever. Love to have easy, no baby sitting recipes like this lol.

Made these over five decades ago while camping out at county fairs in 4-H.
Not that being at a fair to show your animals counts as camping, it was called being responsible.
Anyways it nice to see that vintage food I grew up on showcased here, even if it's not a new recipe.
Sad you are/were too afraid to make/showcase my egg foo yong recipe.

i like the camping food idea. You need to do a camping food series all food cooked over a camp fire. I will be making some chicken bacon ranch taco's with a little fresh cilantro on top for my next camping trip. Thanks for the idea. btw i would love a knife.

I used to make up a bunch of packets full of different food. would never label them. meal surprise. Also would only Cook on the coals of the campfire

The best use of canned chicken is adding some protein to other dishes. I like to make a quick and easy curry with canned beans. Toss a can of chicken in and you get a little meatiness.

Sad that I don't have friends that camp out. It's still on my bucket list, tho. Sooooooooo I can't wait to try this, but I'll will just have to camp in my backyard. Thanks Team Sam. :)

The way it looks gotta have the breat. Could throw in a corn starch slurry to thicken it a little and put over rice or just eat it as is with the sauce being like gravy when thickened.

I’ve done a variation of this recipe but on skewers and it’s a little more time consuming but delicious nonetheless. I will definitely try this! Mmmmmmm

I recently became a new dad in April, I can't wait til my daughter is old enough to enjoy solid foods. Lots of exploration to be done for my entire family

I make foil packets of seasoned potatoes all of the time but haven't tried a chicken bacon ranch packet. This is a great idea and will add it to the rotation.

To all the grill dads out there, what's your favorite thing to cook over charcoal As a new dad I'm looking for ideas to start the grill season the right way
reply

You can do the same with potatoes, bell peppers, and onions and the crowd will go wild at the next grilling event. You must add butter and Tony's Chacheres.

Caught it early today. We make hot breakfast sausage/ground beef patties with sliced onions and potatoes in a foil packet. Family tradition. Yum.
