Cook the steak/patty first, then use some of the cooking oil with the crispies in the pan when you make the roux for the gravy. The crispies add a great touch to the gravy. Ditto for when you make fried chicken country gravy, goes great with mashed potatoes. I tried chicken fried steak in New Mexico, they serve it with New Mexico green chili on top instead of gravy. That's great too.

While cravings are often associated with sugary snacks or salty treats, craving onions can be puzzling. So why am I craving onions
Onions are particularly high in vitamin C, B vitamins, and potassium. If your diet lacks these nutrients, your body might crave onions to fulfill these deficiencies. However, there are other reasons you could be craving onions

Similar CFS origin story. I was on a family trip to Disney in the 80's, maybe 8 or 9 years old, and we had dinner at a Denny's or maybe Shoney's. Just a few memories of the restaurant and why I ordered it, but def remember that huge plate of perfect country fried steak, white gravy and mashed potatoes.

Sam, I’ve been watching for years now and absolutely enjoy trying your recipes. I use your carne asada recipe regularly but instead of beef I use it on chicken and It is most requested meal from friends and family now. Can you make the green chicken Other fans would probably enjoy the idea for themselves

You started me with a new video by Sam The Cooking Guy, but you stuck the landing with chicken fried steak AND white gravy. I have extremely fond memories of eating that at Denny’s late at night with my mom. That’s warmth, right there. I’d love to try it as a burger.

I've made chicken fried steak with gravy many times and have eaten chicken fried steak sandwiches all my life. Not once have I ever made a chicken fried burger, let alone think of putting cheese and gravy on it. Genius Sam!

Sam & the gang, instead of using regular flour try Kentucky Kernel flour. It’s delicious for making country gravy. A wonderful sausage to use in Purnell’s Old Folks breakfast sausage. Absolutely delicious!

Looks fantastic. Could you do that with a breakfast sausage patty and maybe some scrambled egg, and bacon, and Franks hot sauce, and hash browns, chili, and on and on, etc. Lol

I think it's important that you know that your shirt says cook man samu (in a kind of strange way) rather than Samu the cooking guy. That being said, this recipe looks EXCELLENT!

I'm going to have to try this one! I have never seen that as a burger. Granted, I'm from New England, so chicken fried steak isn't normally found here, but I still love it.

Add 2 or 3 tablespoons of hot sauce to the country gravy. It will change your life.
Maybe this burger would be better if the onions were replaced with fried okra.

Love it! Have to try. In Ireland we have a Wurly Burger, It's a deep fried battered burger served in a bun with toppings. Usual ordered in Chippers (Chip shops)

My version of this is actually a Chicken burger made with minced chicken breast and covered with a panko/ parmesan/herbs mix topped with an egg Bun optional

I've lived in East Tennessee all of my life. I enjoyed your Canadian/Californian take on Tennessee Hillbilly, Appalachian-correct grammar. Nailed it. Great!

Next time try making the gravy from some of the reserve pan drippings and oil you used to fry the burger and add an fried over medium egg you're welcome

Kelsey's in Canada used to do a chicken fried chicken years back. They may still, not been there in years. A number of friends were addicted to it.

Make a Navajo Taco. Once you make the fry bread, the topping options are endless. Meat, beans, lettuce, tomatoes. Or sweet honey, powdered sugar.

Yup! This goes immediately onto my to-do list! C'mon Sam! Why didn't you think of it years ago and tell us all what we were missing out on!
reply

I want to BDSM conference where they told us not to yucky each other’s Yum but all I could think it was food and how I want Sam to tie me up

So as someone living in Phoenix, will you share which restaurant that was I’d be totally down for a good chicken fried steak!
Thanks!
