I don't understand all the constant concern about raw food, if it's not the eggs it's the fish. (Unless you have no running water, sanitation and have butchered the animal yourself, in which case yes, there may be some cause for worry) Don't worry about the raw egg, worry about washing your hands, your kitchen counter and your food utensils. It'll be enough. :)

We do a very similar recipe, except we dress the salad differently: in a mixing bowl, mix soy sauce with sesame paste and tiny bit of sesame oil. Add a splash of mirin to get a dressing texture (the sesame paste can sometimes make it a little thick, and toss with the salad.

It seems that the tuna turns out a little bit raw on the center. Do I need to freeze it 24h before using it to prevent anisakis or it isn't necessary? (I never know when is it convenient or not)

Hey guys! This is sounds like an awesome recipe, however I typically have a mild allergic reaction to wasabi. Any replacement ideas for that, while still keeping a similar flavour palate?

that's almost like a recipe I came up with, the only difference is that i use a chicken breast coated in a fresh chilly & garlic paste. Or a beef steak. perfect quick meal.

I'm allergic to raw carrot - anyone have any suggestions on something to replace it instead of using a different coloured pepper or omitting it completely?

The whole time I'm like did he forget he said a min on each side for the tuna and once it goes on the plate I'm thinking it will be super over cooked.

Just to enhance the Japanese flavor a liiiitle more I'd add some thinly sliced kombu and black sesame seeds to the noodle as well. My made personal. :)

The weirdest thing about these throwback Thursday videos is seeing how they used to spend more time cooking than taking the mickey out of Ben.
