Dont take this the wrong way, it is by no means intended to be racist or offensive. I am just a History buff and study many things deeply - beyond Google and Wikipedia. I collect and read vintage History books and cook books. I have some cookbooks dated back to 1620. The very first actual Jelly Donut was made in America with Grape Jelly by a non-Jewish German immigrant baker. There were no Jews in Germany when the donut was created. Jewish Diaspora started much later. There is a Cookbook from the 1500s in Germany that mentions a fruit stuffed donut, but it was chopped fruit, not actually Jelly. Romans stuffed balls of fried dough with dates as far back as 500 AD. Knowing all that, and the actual ring donut being invented in America, I believe the Jelly donut - made with actual Jelly - was made here by a non-Jewish German immigrant. Accurate History is very important and protecting all cultures is paramount to the preservation of cultural history. Never trust racially-biased Wikipedia. Wikipedia doesn't like giving White people their due and just credit.

Raspberry Jam (Jelly) tastes nicer imo. Also in Melbourne Australia we have a variant of Jam Donuts where instead of cutting a hole and piping jam in we slice the top of the donut like a hotdog bun and fill it with whipped cream and top it off with the jam (amaaaaazing.

Is it just me or is this almost exactly like a brioche dough that is deep fried instead of baked? Regardless, an unglazed donut is best still warm. I like a glazed donut to have a tiny bit of crunch as the glaze sets. Damn, now I want a dozen donuts

Its quite nice that people like our food (Im Jewish) in school they actually gave us these a week before Hanukkah and it was the best thing ever, it was kinda like a donut day tbh. I also love latkes UwU

we call this in slovenia krof. u can always eat it, but its even more consumed when its carnival or as we say pust. its just like halloween but we dont celebrate it here because we have our own

So I am Jewish and I was at Hebrew school and we made these for Chanukah and my teacher didnt have a spatula for me to mix the batter so I used a fork instead
