I'm from and still live in South Carolina and I'd say the food and people you are speaking of are not just black. It's all of us southerners in general. Anyone who says y'all basically. And my key ingredients are dill and DUKES MAYO. Most southerners would say it's sacrilege to use a different mayo. Dukes. Miracle whip? NO NO NO.

Why would I want to make it the way my grandparents did instead of trying new things? That's the most bland and boring potato salad recipe I've seen. Tradition is a four letter word. Anytime I see a cook that tells me to keep it the same and not add things, I see a chump. If I could downvote this a thousand times I would.

This is my mother's potato salad She is literally the only one in our large family that makes it - it's that good. She doesn't add miracle whip but yes on everything else. Let me tell you, part of the special MUAH is the dash of celery salt Great video keep them coming

Theres two things that make potato salad yummy and thats Caraway seed and celery seeds. Yumm so delicious in potato salad. and real mayonnaise not the miracle whip stuff. Caraway seed adds a good flavor. so dont skip them in the salad. You need a bigger bowl btw

Now who is putting raisins in their potato salad? Never heard of that till today. Only time raisins go into a 'cookout salad' is apple salad or carrot salad. I found this to be very stereotypical.
