Can This Professional Chef Survive A Day As A Baker? James Baio: Having been a back-end cook at a restaurant, I lost my mind with how hard it was to do my job, keeping up, on the first day. Maybe if we could have a series on what it's like to be a back-up cook, working the fresh produce. seeing what it's really like to work in a good restaurant. might help humanity to appreciate their food more. Many videos focus on one or two dishes or michelin star cooks that do ridiculously meticulous work on ONE dish with 35 components. Could we have a whole day in the life series watching all those processes for some good education?

If you knew what I know about the power of giving you would not let a single meal pass without sharing it in some way. Learn this from water: loud splashes the brook but the oceans depth are calm. I never see what has been done; I only see what remains to be done. You only lose what you cling to. The past is already gone, the future is not yet here. Theres only one moment for you to live. The trouble is, you think you have time.

Hope this makes people understand the fact that baking is an art and one must be disciplined and patient in order to even know what the hell is going on. Shoutout to all bakers and bakeries out there. I love and appreciate you and your craft.

I feel alot of people always look at bakery and pastry as the very chill people during service, what they dont see is because the lots of prep and time taken beforehand to do their mise en place

Occasionally I make my own bread and when it's baking in the oven, the scents are Heavenly throughout the casa. Then breaking into it while it's still warm and takes that slap of butter. no words

You cant just be a baker immediately, you skipped all the basic parts, this is not practical at all. You should start from basics instead.
