I always thought -fail faster- was a kind of annoying buzzword professionals would throw at you to get you to stop bothering them, but I see the value in it now. I used to really hate failure: I always imagined the point of being good at something is to not fail, so less failure means I must be better. Like, I'm studying art to be good, why would I wanna fail, right? It's taken a while to really internalise the idea that failure is good, and to be honest, I still really struggle with the concept at times!

I really appreciate how entertaining and funny all of your videos are. it really stands out amongst a lot lf seriousness. i was wondering what happens if you start with a quick painting like that, but then you want to add details later. and the paint is either too thick and wet or very fudgy and 3D. is this how you what start a detailed painting, or would you attempt to have smoother paint on the canvas?

Wow I learned so much even just in the first 2 minutes thanks you so much. I always never end up working on my paintings knowing how daunting the task is when a painting will take me over 100hours. Which is absurdly long so thank you for your tips on how to be more efficient. I will definitely try this.

i recently started do this when watching tv shows. so basically whenever a scene catches my eye i would try to paint it and ofc it forces me to do it quickly since i dont wanna pause what im watching for too long - and i say its effective so far and it doesnt make me feel intimidated to paint

I don-t get how the paint doesn-t dry. i tried my hand at oil painting and placed the colors I-d use which were only 3 but they kept drying even when I thinned it with linseed oil and tried thinning with the solvent too. what am I doing wrong?

That was a good video. That failure thing is something I'm trying to get used to. It's hard do, but seeing in the long run that you improve makes me a bit more optimistic. I also liked that you showed littering is not okay, way to go!
