Been a fan of the Mattesi's work since before deciding to start making art, I used to copy his linework at the beginning of my learning process, without knowledge of the force method, with art classes in a community center in my city I was taught that this method was wrong and proceed to keep imitating the renascence artists. When developing sense for my self studies I was drawn into this technique once again and finding this video made realise what make it start for me. Thanks for the series and reintroduce a amazing artist to my life.

Any tips on actually loosening up my expectations while practicing this? I can NEVER help but to start focusing on the smaller things and beating myself up that my negative spaces arent very close to the reference and stuff like that, even though you show how amazing it can turn out.

Call me green and impatient. I understand these are practice exercises to create more flow and understanding to get to a realistic finished result to ones work. I want to see how you work this into a realistic finished product.

Do not substitute the concept of dynamic form and hyper-form. The Last mentioned - is the primitive that most modern artists adopt when filling various forms of creative art with comic-like junk.

Those 'underwear censors' for the model photos are far too well done for what was necessary. Nice of Mike to also share his drawings that are older than a good portion of this video's viewers.
